Your round then, I think
You'll be lucky! Had far, far too much to drink last night, ended up not getting home until 7 a.m. (Dirty stop-out, I hear you cry!)
Went out in a group of about 20 people, everyone smoked except me (how rare is that?) - still, didn't succumb to temptation although I probably inhaled enough nicotine from the passive smoke to feel a bit tense for a few days.
What I have noticed is that when I got up this evening (!) to put last night's clothes somewhere other than my bedroom floor, they absolutely reek of stale cigarette smoke. Now I have absolutely zero intention of becoming one of these neo-Nazi ex-smokers who tuts and coughs and gives dirty looks whenever people are smoking around me - strangely I actually quite like the smell of smoke as it comes out of the end of a cigarette, and if there's no "NO SMOKING" sign I'm in their territory - but those clothes absolutely reek! I can't believe that I used to smell like that all the time - what a turnoff!
Anyway, no drunken message board post this time :T: One ASDA SmartPrice Vodka too many I think. PS Am never drinking ASDA SmartPrice Vodka again!

I'm starting today so thought I would join you all.
Got a patch on my arm but it's itching like crazy (usually allergic to plasters) and I feel sick and have a blinding headache, could be the lack of ciggys or the patch I don't know.
Been fiddling with a pen for 2 hours, put it in my mouth several times, just trying to keep my mind off it.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Hello and Welcome (hope squirreltufty doesn't think I'm taking over their role!)
I think the nausea and headache could be to do with too much nicotine intake from the patch but I am not a doctor etc so don't quote me! I'd be tempted to phone your doctor, NHS Direct (08 45 46 47) or the NHS Stop-smoking helpline (0800 169 0 169) to try and determine the cause
Anyway, a few things: did you know you can get various forms of NRT on prescription? You didn't say whether you bought them from a chemist or supermarket etc or had them prescribed, but it works out a lot cheaper to get them prescribed. Had to mention this - it is a moneysaving site after all!
Second of all, a few of us have decided to put quit date in our signatures (almost wrote cigs there lol) to help remind us how well we're doing. I don't know if it's something you'd consider.
Thirdly, stick around! We're a great bunch (and modest with it) and will try support you the best way we can. If you find that patches do not work out for you, I can thoroughly recommend reading Neil Casey's Nictotine Trick available for about 8 quid (less than 40 cigs now) - or available online at https://www.nicotinetrick.com. The great thing about the online version is it's "free" to read - you can read it and then if you think it's worth it, it asks for a tenner. Reasonable value and if you don't think it's worth it you don't have to pay!
HtH and, of course, good luck!

Hi
Welcome!
As well as the Neil casey book, I would recommend one of the Allen Carr books. I had ghastly side effects (headaches, irritability) when I tried NRT (gum), and it was wonderful to find a cure that didn't have any of that:). I also have quite sensitive skin, so patches were no good (edit: which is why I'm giving the patches away, having tried one... see later).
(Well put, RichyRich, but away with you!:rotfl:I didn't start this thread, and even if I had, I wouldn't object to you
