Many people (like myself) have invisible disabilities.

ok, i just thought it was for people who couldnt walk very far and needed transport.

i see loads of people in dla cars who look fitter than me
i also see people who cant walk very far.
my quick assesment would be that there are quite a few cheating the system.

As you said thats a quick assesment, and thats a very dangerous thing to do, what are people supposed to do wear a badge.

you will always find cheats in every walk of life, but just because someone doesn't look obviously disabled doesn't mean they are cheats

Some people are physically capable of putting one foot in front of the other, but have other disabilities (such as blindness) which can make walking rather dangerous for them.

yes i know, and i am in no way calling anyone one here a cheat. cheats spoil it for the genuine.
  • I received a letter 6 weeks ago from DLA stating they had received my completed enquiry questionaire and that they had contacted my GP and hospital for further information.
Today i received a letter from DWP stating that after their enquiries they had decided that my benefit was being paid at the correct rate and there would be no changes to my payments.
So whoever tried to stab me in the back and get my DLA stopped has failed !! Why ?? is the question Why ? .
All it did was put me through 6 weeks of wondering WHO? my mind filtered through the whole neighbourhood even friends and family - will i ever know dont suppose so.
I should never have had any worries as i knew my claim was true and i know what the pain feels like every day to remind me that i am not fit for work as much as i would like to be up in the morning and earning an honest living earning my own money and regaining my pride !! Illness is unpredictable sneaky and can creep up on anyone at anytime - so all you whom are fit dont take it for granted - i hope you keep that way but remember to respect the disabled ITS NOT THEIR FAULT.
