Because, and I'm willing to be corrected, that is the Flext Tariff which doesn't give a specific number of minutes/text/data, but an amount of cash to spend on T-Mobile services in any way and is tricker than an allowance based system

Bingo. T-Mobile put plenty of measures in to keep a track of your allowances, calling 150, texting AL or BAL to 150, checking your account online on their website... There is frankly no excuse to go 6 hours over on your allowance.

Face the facts, the charges aren't hidden, they aren't "a rip off" as they've already gven you 300 free minutes and are only 5p per minute more than PAYG and they were willing to knock £50 off for you. You were irresponsible and greedy and shot yourself in the foot.

Why should T-Mobile have to increase prices for all their customers who know the t&c to allow for your mistakes?

You may think this is harsh but attitudes like this grate on my nerves. The big, bad business is trying to make money, oh no! Stop excusing your actions, suck it up and pay it.

The world would also be a better place if people accepted responsibility for their own actions and paid their debts.

What, like so many companies do you mean?

T-Mobile used to do a Solo Fixed tariff. It was great as people could not exceed allowances.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

The mobile is like a current account. It is a service not a credit agreement too!

You have a balance (credit), you over spend on your card you go into the overdraft. Does the bank warn you about it? No. Do you get charged for it , Yes! The overdraft will cover simple slips, like i on the odd occasion exceed my allowance. But to go over double your allowence, its like having £240 credit and then ending up in about a £600 overdraft.

Sure it would be nice to be told about it, but they do not have to, why. IT IS THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBLITY. It always is with all service agreements. If customers do not want that responsibility then find a more suitable service. Have basic bank accounts without overdrafts, as banks do not provide free accounting services. Like checking your bank balance you need to check your mobile balance as well or suffer the agreed charged. I just do not see the difference.

How many of you would argue with the OP if they were challenged bank overdraft charges, after they had simply spent to much money and ran up an overdraft bill? In both cases the users made a mistake and was carless.

Are you serious? I have to ask because surely no adult is this irresponsible. Surely. That's the attitude of a teenager who gets caught smoking and instead of putting their hands up and admitting fault, instead blames their friends for forcing them to smoke. T-Mobile have done nothing wrong. Accept it.

I think we are all wasting our time trying to reason with the OP.

This thread is slowly spiralling off topic.

I have never suggested that I should get those extra 350 mins for free. Unfortunately because so many of you dont bother to read the thread before jumping in with a response this is the impression that people start to get. Are you the same people that complained about Manuelgate but never actually heard the broadcast in the first place?

I have admitted I made a big mistake. I have stated that I previously DID check my balance online and was always way under it. Even the month before (when I had got used to my usage) I didnt check it and still didnt go over. This particular month, yes I did go way over. Unfortunately it was 6 calls that were just under an hour long. Has noone ever lost track of time when they were on the phone before? Or are you all just too damned perfect for that?

The comments that my family arent anything to do with my contract are very correct. But I didnt state them for that reason. I stated them as it was an illustration of brand loyalty on my part that I introduced 4 new customers to T-Mobile. Yet T-Mobile arent prepared to offer loyalty to the customer especially with the extra custom that has been generated from that customer. You can say that they offered £50 off a bill. But in comparison to the £3000 over the 24 months that is generated from 1 customer (the others wouldnt have switched if I hadnt introduced them) I dont think an extra £20 is too much to ask. Especially when that £20 can mean the difference between the 5 customers staying or going to a rival company when the contract periods end.

Yes I am serious. Its another illustration of how campanies can do what they like with their customers and we are pretty much powerless to stop them.

How many times has a company changed the T&C on a contract that they are legally bound to aswell and the customers choice is to either accept the changes or cancel the contract?
Now ask yourself how many times a customer has ever been able to change the T&C on a contract and tell the company to either accept or cancel the contract.

You cant ask for special treatment based on family members/ friends being on t-mobile. they have no way of knowing you "introduced" them if that where the case I could claim that i introduced 100 people to them and demand that I dont pay for my contract.

And do you think a rival company would do diferently in this situation?

Well I know of at least 1 company that would have got in touch and asked if I wanted to increase my tariff for 3 months so that it covered the over minutes this month. So this situation wouldnt have arisen in the first place.

Some companies are loyal to their customers. Some companies arent it seems.
