Goldtrail Holidays

I'm pretty sure lowcostbeds will be responsible for your accommodation and resort hopper for transfers. Just the flights will be with Goldtrail via lowcostholidays.0

To the poster who asked about credit card - we phoned our cc company. They have been given a standard print out to refer to. We were told unless we were trying to fly home this weekend then we should go back to our TA (if only they would communicate with us somehow) then process through ATOL.
If we end up in dispute with the TA then we can return to the cc to do some sort of 'dispute' claim.
To Mark - what a brilliant idea! Wish I had thought of that as my hotel is only just over the water from a part of greece too (forget which part - not in your area - you can see it from our hotel! Doh!).

Thanks i booked my flights direct with thomsonfly, so those are ok.
i haven't booked my transfers yet.
It's just that i was reading on ht about someone booking their acommodation to turkey, through lowcostbeds, and lowcost beds had booked it through goldtrail............
i'll leave it till the end of the week and just ring them up and see what they say, but there is no mention of any accommodation provider on my invoice.0 -
I finally bit the bullet and phoned Bookable Holiday back, held for 30 mintues and go through to a "customer care" staff. Hopeless! They told me to book my own flights and they'd try to extend the accommodation booking (we should have been there now!). The extra 4 days accommodation would cost £420 and this for only half-board when the rest of the holiday was AI.
When I decided that it was cheaper to start from scratch and book a new holiday, I wasn't offered anything else - I guess they knew by this point that I wouldn't be wanting to deal with them again? I was assured that a claim form would be on the way in a few days and I can claim for the accommodation as well as the flights. When I mentioned claiming from my credit card, I was dissuaded from doing this (it will take longer, go back and forth etc) but I think this may be because the cc will be taking the money back from their bank account!
On another note! I have booked the replacement holiday with a lovely and helpful (above and beyond the call of duty) lady at Broadway Travel called Cheryl. She phoned back when she said (within minutes despite being busy as you can imagine), took the initiative to request twin rooms etc. A total contrast to any other company that I could have booked with (and I phoned a few today, believe me!) who all gave the impression that I needed them more than they needed me! Credit where credit's due.0 -
Sandi - Bookable are pretty useless at the weekend. Be interesting to see if they differ on a weekday, tomorrow!
My so called promised phone call from them today never materialised, but then I didn't believe they would do as they claimed anyway.
Well done for finding alternative holiday.
Phone your cc in the morning and see what they say.0 -
And before the dust has settled the same names crop up again.
An XL Group executive went to Goldtrail after XL's collapse to launch an all new Greece operation for them (previously being just a Turkey operator). Flights for this new venture are sourced from Kiss Flights, a broker set up DAYS after XL's collapse by, you guessed it, some former XL bosses. And the airline used for the Kiss Flights to Greece? Viking - an airline with ownership connections to XL people.
And now Goldtrail dissapears in smoke and these connections can't help but crop up - Phil Wyatt and his assosciates. These cretins should be banned from having anything to do with travel. Trouble is the law makes it so easy for them to just start again.0 -

I should point out that I am NOT saying either Kiss Flights or Viking Airlines are about to collapse.
Goldtrail bought seats from Kiss Flights for flights to Greece - that is all. Goldtrail have collapsed not anyone else.
I was just commenting on the fact that when travel companies have collapsed in recent years its always the same people that are "connected".
Relax. You're flight on Wednesday with Viking will be fine - plenty of other operators use them.0 -

Jetline website says to wait, as Jetline are contacting passengers in departure date order. I guess that means your parents will be quite far down the list if the departure is in October.
Interestingly they say customers are protected by Jetlines own insurance and will not need to worry about CAA claims. http://www.jetlinetravel.com/0
