  • Got through to TR - only 20 mins wait! They have confired our Kiss flights are unaffected... phew.

Apparently OHY flight numbers are associated with Onur air - Not just Goldtrail. Can anyone confirm this... still worried:(
  • I've been onto ATOL/CAA today. Here are there Q&A on anything to do with the Goldtrail umbrella and what to do next.

Lets not be greedy people, lets re-book our flights one at a time so not as to crash the holiday websites!

OHY is the Onur Air airline code.

Are you !00% sure that your flights are still safe? Have you checked this with the airline?

If your flights have been booked with goldtrail then yes the wont be valid. alot of tour operators use Onur Air

The prices are rediculous for the next few days to Turkey

I didn't think they would be valid as this is what the guidance says on the ATOL/CAA website and this is why I asked the poster to check with the airline!

Good Lord prices have sky rocketed since Thursday!
  • Hey Del, as you are a travel agent, can you get us some cheap flights to Turkey please?;)

Yeah ive called Kiss aswell - They have confirmed no association with Goldtrail. OHY just relates to Onur air, not specifically Goldtrail.

The CAA/ATOL only states Goldtrail flights will not be valid. It is Goldtrail that has failed not any airline or any other tour operator.

Goldtrail chartered airlines from Turkey such as Onur Air, Turkuaz, Saga Airlines. These airlines will now not operate any flights that were on behalf of Goldtrail (other than ones back to the UK that the CAA will pay for.)

However those airlines are also used by other operators, such as Kiss Flights, Aegean Flights, Holidays4U and Teleticket travel. None of these operators are affected and the airlines will carry on operating their flights.

For those affected ATOL have updated their website further. http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=2036&pagetype=90 They do not expect any information relating to claiming money back to eb available until Monday. Be advised that refunds through ATOL are not speedy, so if you are able make other travel plans and pay out for those and await the Goldtrail ATOL refund when it comes. If you booked through an agent they may be able to help you arrange other travel and claim through ATOL.

Just as added info, and we won't know for sure until Monday, going on other failures the claim order is usually this:

    - Credit Card (if you booked on directly with the failed company using one)
    - ATOL (if you didn't book on credit card or booked through an agent)
    - Visa Chargeback (this usually works for people who have no other protection - although everyone should be ATOL protected in thsi case)

From what I understand, if you booked Goldtrail flights through Hays like we did, you are not covered by Hays, so they have no responsibility to find you another flight etc, but your flight is atol protected so you (like me) will need to file an atol claim and we will eventually (!) get our money back.
