Yeah the flights are still travelling Viking (kiss flights) are a tour operator on there own

Goldtrail only used the aircraft, the flights would have to be booked through Kiss for the seats still to be valid

  • I have also finally heard from Bookable Holidays and have opted for the refund minus the 'small' admin fee. How come they can't tell us what that will be. We are going to look into the visa debit card chargeback scheme. However in an email sent today they said don't apply for chargeback because they will contest it and it will only delay the claim. Also they suggest rebooking with them! This company are unbelievable. Why should we have to pay an admin fee anyway for something which is not our fault. How do we know they won't go into liquidation too before we get our refund, after they have got our money from ATOL?

Charging an admin fee is rediculous

I was in the same boat as you.Managed to get flights from cheapflights.com with 3 different airlines. going directly with aegean Airlines, Thomas Cook from Dalaman to Birmingham and Fly be from Birm. to Glasgow. Incidentally I was on Direct .gov website and it says on there if you pay by C Card OR Visa Debit your bank will refund.

As I stated in my post above.... has anyone asked Bookable Holidays what the admin fee is for? I don't think they can charge an admin fee for ATOL claims. However the fee may be in relation to cancelling other aspects of your holiday booked with other providers (hotels and transfers) in which case it may be totally legit.

hmmm... i booked through the seemingly notorious 'bookable holidays' and have an invoice for a 'goldtrail' flight although the accomodation is not nor the transfers. with the cost of flights now rocketing sky high and no contact from 'bookable holidays', does anyone know how I stand? can I claim for the whole holiday?

I have just received my invoice from Bookable today, for a holiday booked just over a week ago, due to travel 1/8. After calling Bookable all day Sat and Sunday, got through to someone who confirmed my flight was with goldtrail. However, nowhere on my invoice, does it state this is with Goldtrail. This is only the ATOL confirmation invoice. Did you receive a different invoice type?

I have tried to phone them all afternoon and tonight, no luck, to clarify this and also a few other points, as total packaged holiday booked through Bookable and they booked Goldtrail flights, seemingly (although nothing shown on my invoice received today) and accomodation and transfers with another provider. Also want clarification as to who will settle the claim re hotel accomodation, transfers etc if holiday cancelled as I called CAA tonight, who confirmed that only the flight cost can be claimed back from ATOL. So, I am thinking Bookable charging the £80 fee for cancellation and admin costs for the hotel cancellation. This is what I want to clarify with them and also why goldtrail not mentioned on my invoice. Will post and update, as soon as hear.
  • Well after my posts earlier on in this thread when i found out my flights were 'Safe' Came home tonight to an email confirming my flights had been cancelled

MAJOR FLIGHT CHANGE NOTIFICATION We have recently been contacted by your flight provider, for whom we are acting as the agent. Kiss Flights have advised us that due to the failure of Goldtrail at the weekend the BRS-DLM flight will no longer be operating. This is due to Goldtrail Having the main allocation and Kiss Flights being the lesser sharer they are unable to take on the additional allocation to continue this flight. In these circumstances your options are to: a) Cancel your flight booking with full refund. b) Book alternative flights through our sales team.

So although my booking was not with Goldtrail - They still have been cancelled. So 3 hours of phone calls later & £700 less in my pocket, i am now rebooked(on slightly different dates)

So if you are on a Kiss or Viking flight - i would double check your booking

Sorry to hear that. Generally for Turkey Goldtrail chartered their own flights on the Turkish airlines. Looks as if on top of that they were taking seats on Kiss/Viking, and now it isn't worth Kiss operating them without the Goldtrail custom.

As an aside; most of Goldtrail's flights with Kiss/Viking were for the Greece programme. For the repatriation flights from Greece, the CAA has barely had to use any Viking flights, and managed to get people back on existing flights with Monarch, Jet2, Thomson etc....

Can't have been many Goldtrail customers if they can get people home using spare capacity on other operators flights!
  • Back to Bookable holidays - they told me that they had insurance which covered the whole holiday. Could this be something to do with the fact that they are ABTA bonded?
