What happened to getting married before having children?

You're wrong. They've been married for twenty odd years. Together for thirty. My grandparents have been married for sixty six years and all my uncles and aunts are married.
However I did grow up as a second class citizen thinking that I'd never be able to get married, so it has never occurred to me that I would, even though now I can. I suppose the ceremony would be quite nice, but I don't need the government to validate my relationship.
Fang, why would you think you could never get married?
Are you gay?
I have loads of gay friends who have been together years (up to 10) I thought when legisltion changed they woulld all get married - but no one has yet???0 -

I assume from this that you are gay. If this is the case, why are you getting so incensed about a thread on heterosexual marriage?0 -

Marriage isn't exclusively heterosexual and the word heterosexual wasn't mentioned.0 -

Why would they? They've had a lifetime of being second class citizens, and having to accept that they may never get married. To some people marriage doesn't mean the same thing.0 -

This forum isn't exclusive to the UK.0 -
That's all fine, but why did you choose to come on here and attack people who don't want or need to do any of that? That says to me that you are insecure. If you were secure in your choices, you wouldn't need to attack.
If your husband started to beat you, would you stay?
I'm humouring you...
a) I'm not (nor will ever be) attacking anyone
b)I'm secure in the love my husband has for me (apart from all the stuff he does day- to -day, he loves me and looks after me, always and forever).
c) If my DH beat me, I would go.

Then how can you say that you meant your vows of 'for better (f)or worse'? Or did you attach conditions on your vows?0
