I am trying to get some sort of routine in the morning so that its easier once the school run starts again.
Have set an alarm on my phone fro 8am and ben has learnt when he hears that alarm then we have to get dressed and do our teeth so he is up at 7am (the latest) and has breakfast now at about 7.15 - 7.30am and then gets half hour to watch tv etc before dressed/teeth and then I get holly changed/dressed after that to be finished by 8.30 so we can leave at 8.40am for the school run etc - its only a basic morning routine but it seems to be working so far and will hopefully make life easier especially when school starts.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: just in case you al think ive turned into a right lazy mare!

Morning Ladies (and any lurking gents there maybe!) Congratulations Taplady, that must be one hell of a nice feeling!
I look forward to exeperiencing it one day. Hugs to anyone who needs them, especially the SAHM and those who Work Outside (as well as Inside!) the Home! I don't have children, but I do have a high pressure job, with long hours, with rubbish pay, and am still expected to go home and cook and clean and be the perfect bloody housewife. Every now and then Hubby and I sit down and have a bit of a chat which opens with me saying "I'm sorry, i didn't read the small print of our marriage contract. Where precisely does it say that I have to do the lot?" One of the funniest occasions, though at the time it made my blood boil, was when hubby replied to my opening gambit with "But I thought you enjoyed doing all the work!" I can laugh about it now, but at the time, I was looking around for a sharp object to stab him with! I feel such pressure to be able to do it all and be the pinnacle of housekeeping excellence. I am in recovery though. Flylady helps.
Dad is hopefully being moved to Salisbury Hospital and Mum is driving back to Wiltshire this afternoon. Not sure how long he is going to be in Hospital for yet, but at least he is closer to home and Mum can have her own bits and pieces around her when she isn't commuting to and from the Hospital all the time! Here's hoping the journey goes well for both Dad and Mum.
I have four jobs on my work to do list today and they are all hideously awful projects that need to get moving. I don't want to do any of them. However, I must. So I am going to adapt the flylady methodology and go for it. 15 minutes on the first horrible projects starts.... NOW!

The leaves are very sugary to chew.
Yep - had a quick chew at one of the leaves on my Stevia plants - sugary indeed.
I would say that the idea of just stirring around a leaf from a Stevia plant in a cup of sugar or coffee instead of spooning in sugar or sweetener is probably a viable one. I would imagine it would taste similar to using a "sweetener" in a drink.
No wonder - as I recall - there is at least one sweetener manufacturer trying to make a new sweetener from it (well - many of us have read about the existing sweeteners........).
My plants are still "babies" yet - so not up to experiment stage yet. I see I made a note of possible ways to use it all the way back in December 2008 (oh well - in plenty of time for the fact that speculators have now turned their attention to speculating with sugar I read in the papers this week....:D).
If any MSE member guesses what place on the Internet I might have "stored" my information on that successfully - then do come back and report how it goes if you get round to completing any experiments with this before I do...:D
So - my next step will be putting my plants out in the garden - and hoping they arent something slugs and snails like having for dinner:cool:0 -

"I have only got 4 at the moment and they are promised to other people. I will start some cuttings but will take about 6 weeks to be ready. best if you check back then , as they are a bit tricky to get started."
This from the guy who gave me mine, I think he has a business and sells plants. Mine were beautifully packed and have come on well, I have one big one and one wee one.
Well - I'm growing mine from seed - from the firm I mentioned. I didnt find them tricky to get started....it did take a few weeks before I saw much "action" - but once they poked their heads up above the soil (aka multipurpose compost) they started growing pretty rapidly.0 -
Crickett, I always kept one room tidy and that made me feel better. Anything else could sit behind shut doors until I felt like it...and my method of coping with a lazy husband/messy family was "in a minute".. used that one for 44 years and counting
Ceridwen, I dont take sugar in tea and I dont drink coffee - but I'd imagine you would get a lot more sweetness if you sort of infused the leaf like you do with mint tea. Bung it in the pot and leave it to stew.0 -
Hello everyone. Been Missing In Inaction for a few days but lurking. Hope the sun is shining for you today, it has been shining here in Manchester but starting to cloud over now but hey, at least we have had a few hours without rain!
Sigh. Just had housing inspector here. My downstairs needs damp-proofing so I have to move everything upstairs . I really don't know where it's all going to go. I have about 60kg of animal feed plus 25kg of wood shavings for a start, plus bike trailer, folding wheelbarrow, a whole library of books .... and this is after I've been decluttering for the whole summer. I also have some stocks of soya milk and dried food but the stocking up will have to wait a bit now. Of course I am grateful that I will be having the damp proof course done for me but oh, the mess it will make ....
And on top of that my Dyson has gone bellyup and is refusing to suck anything. Waaaaaahh!
And I have a poorly hen. I think she is on her way out
So a bit up and down here. That's life, I suppose. Off to go and search the web for dyson cures! Yawn ....Aspire not to have more but to be more.

You sit at the fire with a cup of tea pet and put the wee hen on your knee . And think how lovely it will be to have a nice damp-free house with tons of room for dry storage0

The Dyson troubleshooting on the web is great - and if all else fails you can phone them up. When I did this they went through everything with me and then sent me out some free partsRe-sult!
