Things appear to be looking up here....apart from the weather.
I am still locked in negotiations with my numerous creditors, hopefully they will accept my £5 a month offers (its either that or nothing and hoping I can buy more time to save for bankruptcy, I had a tax refund but whoops half of that went on uniforms, shoes, restocking the pantry)
Bad bit is one of my ebay sales went astray in the post so I have to refund a buyer.
My OH appears to be a bit happier, assures me he isnt leaving me anytime soon (school holidays are a bit manic here and for someone who has never been around children i am not surprised he wants time away) He bought me 2 lovely cumberland baby turtles to put in my empty aquarium for our anniversary and I got him a florida kingsnake (it was a rescue)
No luck on the allotment yet though0 -

gailey Well done hubbyand good luck wishes for next week
annie56 Glad to hear you sorted the Job Centre people out :rotfl: apart from that, it sounds like you've had a good, positive day, especially on the allotment front
We've had wall to wall rain here down south all day, and in fact, every day since last Thursday bar yesterday. Had to do a round trip of 1¾ miles on foot to get various bits and bobs grocery wise and got soaked, and to top it all off have failed my grocery challenge.......but I'm warm, and I'm full, and my daughter has had a run of 3-4 reasonable days, for the first time in a long, long time so all is good in my worldAug11 £193.29/£240

Ooh - congrats and good luck to Gailey's OH
#Annie56 - my OH signed on for 13 weeks for contrib JSA (it's also taxable, mind - they don't tell you that....:() He found the staff to be most unhelpful and quite rude. He turned up for his initial interview/ sign on in a £400 suit (had just had a job interview) and felt really out of place! The job centre here never get jobs his level and freely admitted that there was absolutely nothing that they could do for him. What he found out by accident (they don't seem to proffer any advice) is that you can claim travel for interviews. As most of his were in London @ over £100 per train ticket that was very helpful!! They really didn't know what to do with him - his job level/ salary and that we didn't get any tax credits/ benefits etc. I don't think he was their usual customer! But they really weren't forthcoming with info - they seemed to expect him to know it all - well, no - he'd never been in that position before....
It's been hammering it down since late morningFirst thing was ok, so I put last night's wash out. I nipped out for about 15 minutes to m-i-l's and that's when it started raining - it's now wetter than when it went out. It can stay there for now - it's all non tumble drier stuff.
I've been destoning kilos of plums for freezing at m-i-l's (no room here) - will make jam & chutney when we return from our (wet?!) camping weekend. I've also chopped tomatoes and courgettes for freezing. The 3 carrier bags of apples can live in the fridge for now....... I also need to pick beans before we go away - eek! Running out of time!!
Have been listing on ebay today (free listing for me today & tomorrow - they seem to be choosing different days for people!) 40 items so far...... Hopefully clear some clutter and make some cash! Will make DH doubly happy!!

Well done to your husband Gailey.
And well done to you Annie, glad things are on the up and you've sorted the job centre out.
Not a bad day up north today. Hasn't rained, got loads of washing dry. Sad when that constitutes a good day but there it is. You never think when you are 16 that you will be glad about being able to get your washing dry do you?
Made sausage casserole in the slow cooker for tea, loads of veg, dash of worcester sauce, mustard, few chopped apples from the garden, couple tins tomatoes, two packs of buy one get one free for £1.97 sausages and at least ten if not 13 portions out of it. Just depends whether DS decides to take double portions out of the freezer for himself instead of single ones. Served with loads of mash and extra peas and it was lovely.Second purse £101/100

Lots to catch up on again - but it's worth it!
I was given a blast from the past when I read Annie56's posts. That was me 10 years ago before I plucked up the courage to walk out of a 30+years marriage to someone who took every (and I mean every) opportunity to put me down.
I've never been happier than I have been in the last decade and have never regretted my decision to go solo.
Sometimes you're more lonely being part of a couple than being alone.
To those of you who are struggling for whatever reason, keep plodding along and look to the future. :grouphug:
