    Afternoon guys.

Raining here so not been out,
Daughter has no more spots so unsure if it is chicken pox.
Had lazy day cant get motivated but need too.
Been on edge as hubby supost to hear about new job mon/tue.
He rang today they dident finish intervewing for vacancy until yesterday hr said they chase it up and get back to him today but as its 4, oclock times running out he doesnt want to bother her again.
So nervous for him as he really wants it and would massivly improve our income.

Was watching something about potash newsnight 2nights ago aparently its used for fertiliser and they discussed food securities.
Wondering for future years to come if we could grow enough to last all year in garden and perhaps allotment taht we will manage to beat price fluntuations and shortages.

Watched great bake off last night bakings so hard and complicated.
Meant to be baking today, was hoping would hear good news and rush to make a cake.

Ahh eldest is bored and tormenting the baby.
    Baby refusing afternoon nap
lounge and kitchen look a tip.

    So cold and dark here.

Snap Ginny. Yesterday I was gobsmacked by a pkt of Persil at nearly £6 and it was not very big. I pointed and boggled and the RV told me to behave :)
Is a lovely sunny day here and I got two washings dried :)

Well I have news hes got through to 2nd round. Hopefully half a day assessment next week or week after, then if hes gets through theres a 3rd stage!
Its harder than m15! Hes done maths test and stage 1 so far.
Could be another couple of weeks of stressing yet but trying to stay positive.
Right off to bake cake and get kiddies fed and in bed as hubbys not home until 9 want to watch great british waste menu.

    Evening all

Well today has certainly brought me down to earth with a bang, me and the Jobcentre what an experience!!
Basically one very snooty type lady told me I had to live of my redundancey money till it got to a certain amount and couldnt claim Jobseekers till then....WRONG..told her I was entitlted to Contribution Based JSA based on my previous National insurance Contributions, she said I had not worked long enough to qualify...I said excuse me miss Ive worked since June 1974 for the NHS without a break and paid full stamp for over 30 years and was only made redundant 3 weeks ago and my NI records are showing you that Ive not made enough contributions......well after me refusing to leave my seat and a few huddled whispers in the corner the supervisor came over all apologetic saying there had been a muddle up over my NI Number and that I could sign on today and then fortnightly there after, I didnt half give him a piece of my mind verbally that is and she said very haughtily well you are entitled to £65.45p per week....mmmmmmmmm well Im certainley not going to be living the high life on that amount but I will live okayish till I find a new job...

The allotment is mine yahoo....its massive and managed to knock down the previous lottie holder to £70 for some of the stuff thats been left on there.
All beds have slab paths each side of them, a shed bit remashackle but its a shed, 2 green plastic compost bins and she said you can have whats in the shed but Ive lost the key so one of the older guys prised the lock of for me, wahoo a treasure trove...border fork and spade, rake, hoe, seed trays, plant pots and the lottie has runnerbeans growing, rhubarb crowns, blackberries and raspberries and an overgrown herb bit with mint parsley and an old rosemary bush and theres a bay tree overhanging the fence from next lottie so thats my herbs taken care of..the fences are in good repait and the communal tap is just outside the front of the lottie so the holders have been coming up and introducing themselves and there was even a pair of size 7 blue wellies with pink butterflies on in the shed, Im a 6 but have a couple pairs of nice thick woolley socks that will take care of that.

Chap on next allotment made me laugh about the previous owner, he said she was blonde and wore a thong, so I replied well dont worry Im dark haired and have Bridget Jones nickers thought he was having a heart attack the way he started laughing, they sound a lovley bunch and one of the ladies said to watch them as they are all single widowers lol ....ah well will flutter these old brown eyes and see if they have a rotavator they wanna show off, am really excited now so its off down the allotment most mornings now if it keeps dry.

Joined the library and got some books out, and will have a look on the gardenig forums...lifes good...well will have to be until I find a job, but Im taking a long hard look at my options ....there not much but its my own free choice and thats exciting

Hope you all have a pleasant evening

    One happy Annie56

Annie that post brought a huge smile to my face, I am so pleased for you, in the most unpatronising way possible, that things have started off so brightly in your new life. :D

  • Annie56 You sound a brilliant, strong woman. You made me laugh with your frying pan incident. Good luck to you. I think you are going to do just fine.
That's Me - I loved what you said and it makes me feel better now that I may be temporarily unemployed but I can spend more valuable time with my 12 yr old daughter which is worth more. We are not well off by any means but if we are careful my husband can support us.
Gaily - Good luck to your husband that's brill. My husband was always a bit fussy about toys around the house and didn't like them in the living room and they ended up going in daughter's bedroom at the end of the day.
Thank you everyone for the support will post my application for voluntary work. Can't apply for any benefit as husband works full-time and from what I'm reading on here I haven't been paying enough NI to receive JobSeekers being a part-time worker since my daughter was born.
Every day is a new life to a wise man.
Sufficient for the day are it's own worries.:cool:
  • Woohoo, well done Mr Gailey!!
