Hiya SmileyT glad to see you back. Dysons are pretty easy to fix and come apart and go back togehter well. I used to put bits of mine in the dishwasher - sadly it did go to hoover heaven eventually but I have a reputation for killing vacs!

I paid my car tax this morning then got in a bit of a panic when I looked at how much money I had left until pay day (which isn't for three weeks...rubbish!) and calculated what else needs paying for and it includes the car's first service. DH will assist with those bills but I did get in a bit of a panic about running out of money again. I just seem to cut it so fine every month even though I try so hard not to over-spend and hardly buy myself things at all. It's just once the bills have gone out and the credit card debt has been paid there's really not much left. I'm looking for a better paid job but there's just so little about at the moment.

I'm feeling extra rubbish after waking up with agonising pain in my lower back and hips which hasn't really eased off at all and has hardly been touched by the painkillers a colleague gave me. I'm going to go try get something a bit stronger on my lunchbreak because ow ow ow!

I was quite good last night though, I sorted all the veggies from our box into the right places, cooked dinner and then did all the washing up and tidied the kitchen and put a wash on instead of just slumping on the sofa and ignoring the housework. It felt good...though I would rather have done some knitting

I know that feeling chick - that's why I'm setting myself a hard rule now of pay the bills and whatever is left is mine.

I literally pay all the bills bar the rent which boyfriend pays - his job brings in £800 and he has sole use of the car so he pays that, his debts, maintenance for his other son and petrol and by the time they are all done he is practically skint so its on me to make sure everything is paid on time.
We hardly have anything left and what is left usually has to go on petrol or food.
    Time to find me again

My OH earns a lot more than me and the bills are split accordingly but the credit card debt is mine and mine alone so I wont make him pay towards that. I just wish I had more left over at the end of the month...doesn't everyone though eh? I may soon though...got an interview for a better paid job next week and am sick with nerves at the thought!

    hope he is ok? x

Had friend and her daughter here today for day 3 of us doing mums and tots!

We got chatting about food costs and she cant understand how she spends more than us when there are only 3 of them. Found that they use 600g of chicken breast in one meal alone! I suggsted buying a whole chicken and cooking then using for two meals, she said too much hassle,I suggested adding veg - a no again. I always talk about this site but she not interested but does complain they use credit card for shopping and bits. apparently they use a 500g pack of mince for spag bol for 1 meal and put any excess in bin, cant think of what else to sugges to her to help budget as she wont comprimise on buying micro meals for the two days she works.

Plumber was due today but has rang and cancelled so hopefully the toilet will be sorted tomorrow although its OH birthday and we did have plans.

    gone a little cool here
    Mum, wife and dinnerlady!

I was truly shocked today, I know I try and shop very little but decided to have a wander round Mr T - have you seen the price of the proper brand soap powder:eek::eek::eek::eek: Upto 8.00 a box All I can say is thank god for gloop and own brand non bio otherwise I would have to find a rock by a stream and buy some carbolic soap. Are non MSE'ers really paying that price and not complaining loudly to the manufacturers??? I just feel sorry for people with allergies who can only use certain powders.
