Ouch tirlittan! Bet you feel a bit achy from all of that over the next few days!
My stomach muscles are telling me that they worked hard during my run yesterday.....that has to be a positive, right :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Yes, it is the feeling silly that is the absolute worst bit of it all!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Sorry to read about all injuries and hope recovery is swift. I am back - have been training for Liverpool marathon for couple of weeks now. Have been doing all my running (which is the part I like) and some of my stregth exercise (which the part I don't like).
Just back from a 40 minute fartlek - hart and satisfying. It is rather warm and humid here so looked like I have just come out of a sauna.

My first ever Race For Life is now done and dusted
And it was with the aim of doing a 5km one this year that I started running last year - but I've done a 10km........
I'm glad I went, but I have to admit I wasn't sure I should given I've not been able to train for 5 weeks due to my chest infection, and had only done two runs this last week (3.88 miles on Sunday, and 4.01 miles on Thursday) so wasn't sure I was up to 10km.
A really slow start as there was a narrow part on the course that was littered with huge puddles, so not much above a walking speed for the first half mile - and very frustrated to find that as it started to open up there was loads of people walking even though there had been a clear announcement that the first wave to leave were to be runners (planning to finish in no more than 45 mins), the second wave (which I was in) was joggers and the walkers were to be the last to set off  Meant I had to keep weaving round folks to try and get my speed up which shouldn't have happened, but is clearly why I'd been warned that a RFL isn't an event to get a personal best.
My personal best for a 10km is 58 mins and 59 secs, and despite the lack of training and chaotic first half mile I completed today's in 1hr 1min and 31 secs - so I'm really, really pleased with that :T
Just need to hope my legs hold out for a reasonable time in tomorrow's 5km now (organised by my club to raise funds for local Breast Cancer Unit) - but even if it takes me a lot longer than it should it'll still be a personal best as it's the first race of that distance I've doneCheryl0 -
Well done cw18 :T:T:T:T and good luck for tomorrow too!
I've done about 7 miles today - slow as I was with runchum so have to go at her pace not mine, but it was still miles under my feet so all good, fitnesswise.....
Got caught in a torrential downpour though, at the point furthest from home of course....and we were running through country lanes - nowhere to shelter at all! Oh well, that's summer running for you!
Happy running everyone xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
