Well done for 7 miles. That is distance that I have attempted twice just to have to cut short both times for one reason or other (first way too hot and dehydrated and then dodgy tummy).

My shin has got worse again :( so heading tomorrow morning for a swim instead.

Thanks pania! Until recently I wouldn't have believed that I could have run that unless something big and hairy was chasing me!

Congrats on the 7 miles sallyx! That's a great distance despite the nettles :) One day I hope I can equal that

7 Miles is an average distance for me but thanks...you can both get there too, just don't rush it and cause injury!

vixstar, buscopan is your friend!!! when i did the marathon in 2006 I suffered massively with a sudden urge for the loo half way around. it is more common in runners that are dehydrated so keep those fluid levels up!! I found taking a buscopan half hour before a longer run really helped me out.
fortune, those 7 miles will be under your belt before you know it. the elation as you get longer and further is worth running for without the health benefits!!
well thats another 3 1/2 miles under the belt. ran at a face pace then sprinted/jogged 500 metres, sprinted from one lamp post to another then jogged to the next one, sprinted jogged etc etc. then ran to a hill, ran up it, thought the pain was so much fun (note the sarcasm) i walked back down and ran at a good pace back up. wheezed with pain and nearly collapsed, so in search of the ultimate thrill (sarcasm, again! :D) walked back down and ran as fast as i could back up and then ran home, getting herded by a collie and bitten on the !!! by a gnat for my troubles!! :rotfl:

all righty guys. I am about to dramatically shame myself here but i need it for motivational purposes... at the moment, i, ahem, have a couple of watermelons if you catch my drift..now, we all like watermelons, they are refreshing. but lets be honest they are also a little bit squishy and beinghonest who wants to carry two half watermelons when they are out for a run?? not me!!! :p so i wish to swap my watermelons for canteloupes.. much smaller, firmer and easier to pop in a bag when you need to run for a bus....
so, to completely shame myself into action here are my current measurements. feel free to join in with the shame or quietly monitor your own from afar... the fact of the matter is, my sister is faster than me because she has about 2 stone less than me to carry. I am slower because my will power has let me down.
    so, big deep breath here goes... chest-38inches:eek: waist 34inches:eek: hips 39":eek:thighs 19.5 inches:eek: upper arms 9.5 inches:eek:

so if it is ok, weekly i will redo my measurements and see how they are coming down. with the aid of running, jillian and some cycling... we shall see but for now, i say again :eek::eek::eek::rotfl:

thank you for letting me share :o

Hoping the running and Jillian will help lower the numbers a little - no real target except slightly looser clothes and definitley slimmer thighs. Hmm may have to find some hill runs!
