  • tirlittan - I've applied for a place on FLM which at the moment has duelling reactions from me between :eek::eek: and :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Other than that, today I managed 2.4 miles :D:p:o;)

  • Good evening everyone.

Tonight I dragged myself out for a run. Felt really tired after work and almost decided not to go. First half went really well then felt pretty tired for last half so cut it short by 8mins and ran around 5 - 5.5miles instead of 6.

Pleased I went out and ran and means I can have a day off tomorrow and I've run twice this week!

  • Evening! Well I did the GNR in 2:37:21. Last years time was 2:41:06 so I got a PB but not my target time of 2:30. I'd forgotten how hard it was, and how hilly! :rotfl:

Still, a PB is great, and it gives me something else to aim for next year. I had a run on the beach tonight with the club doing an "out and backs" session - run out for 2 mins then aim to get back to the starting point in under 2 mins. Then out for 4 mins, then out for 6 mins. And then another 2 mins to finish. Adding on the 1K out from the club and 1K back it was a total of 7.4K!!

  • Hi Guys,

Well this has been a long time in coming but I have finally dragged my sorry self out bed bed early enough to go for my first run in about three years. This has been seven months in the making after quitting smoking on Feb 26th. I had a 2.5km route planned but that went Pete Tong and ended up diverting into a 3k'er! Fortunately my 16m:15s time is slow enough to ensure Mo Farah won't be losing any sleep but I got round without stop and it is something to build on. At my prime this would have been an 8-9 minuter but that will come in time (just ho wmuch? LOL). Hoping to build myself up to do the 10km village race next year. I live right on the route so should have the terrain nailed too by then.

Managed another run this morning, same again, thought a 3k'er would be acheivable, ended up doing 5km in 32mins. Was still suffering fron Friday's run so this one was a bit harder! Lol. Just purchased some cod liver oil tablets to give the old knees a fighting chance.

  • Only 2 miles yesterday and no running today. I'm going to up it to 3 miles from tomorrow as the 2 miles were quite easy for me so gradually building back up...:)

  • 2.5 miles yesterday but running a bit faster doing it in 24 minutes :) I might pull back a bit though and just try to get back up to 6 miles before I try to go any faster. How are you all doing?

  • Run day yesterday evening another 6miles and the final day of intervals completed.

Next one is to reduce the miles down form 60mins to 40mins and work on improving strength and speed which I really need to do

The plan is 3 x a week for 5 weeks and on the 5th week get back to 6 miles and hopefully run it better than I do now. Looking forward to this and should be there by the end on Oct
