And why's that nutter of a neighbour flying a Union Jack? Is that always there? Could be trouble ....

I doubt 'the nutter' spends all his life on MSE like you do! And what's wrong with flying a Union Jack? We're in Great Britain, you know?!

Why call someone who flies a Union Jack a nutter? There's nothing MAD in being patriotic! Besides, you don't know when the picture was taken or what was going on.

You need to get yourself a life.

All I need to do is take one look at Pic 1, glance at the price, then laugh a bit and decide you are obviously deluded. Sorry, but that house for that price is about as likely to sell as an empty beer can for the same price.

Thank Jonewer, very constructive criticism from you, just what we were after... as my wife has put on the beginning of the thread she is fed up, comments like that don't help one bit.

Yes MC, Loriellah and myself are both owners of the house, she's my wife and yesterday she replied using my ID as I was already logged into the computer and her head is so full of fluffy baby things right now that she didn't realise it!

I have been trying to get hold of the estate agent to ask for their opinion- do we lower price, have open house etc and I am STILL Waiting on them ringing me back. I have tried every day since Monday, always leaving messages. This alone is making me just want to swap estate agents. They wer every quick to ring us back when we were signing up to them but now they don't seem to be very good at their customer care side of things at the moment.

You at it again, PN? Snooping around......

    Was that really necessary?

My first thought was the wonky roof line too and the urge to go check further was strong (think me and PN are very alike there) but a medical appointment called and time was short.....in the meantime, PN did the donkey work so I didn't have to and my mind then felt settled.

With regards to the house, I'm not sure if it is the quality of the photos but it did appear a little dated and creased in places.

Picture 1 - Front looks overgrown, neglected and that roof line bothers me.

Picture 2 - Quite dark and overpowering with the red and a little busy but not majorly putting me off.

Picture 3 - Kitchen looks quite 80's to me and dated with a little clutter, doesn't exactly excite me and I would be thinking money....and my kitchen is not the best in the world (£50 from a newspaper 12 years ago)

Picture 4 - Again, dated and not really co-ordinating with different wood colours.

Picture 5 - The bed dominates this picture and doesn't really give a good idea of size, also the bed coverings is rather dated and bland...quite a bland looking room.

Picture 6 - Better idea of space but bedding again lets it down (bland, creased and uninspiring) and makes it look dated, also some clutter here.

Picture 7 - I don't actually mind this one so much, gives a good idea of what space is available and maybe only a few little tweaks of furniture placement needed.

Picture 8 - Oh dear, a very rumpled bed, no idea of space available and quite dated looking.

Picture 9 - Hmm, well what is shown looks nice, clean and up to date...but it doesn't really show much.

Picture 10 - Lovely greenery but what does it belong to? The view from where? It's confusing.

Pictures of outside space connected to the property would be good as would floor plans.

I won't comment on the price as I have no knowledge of that area.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

the same experience with EAs and one solicitor. Once they have you hooked, the attitude changes instantly.
swapping EAs will probably change nothing.

Funny you should say that Eric- our solicitor too hasn't returned our calls. It's beginning to get extremely frustrating.

And we have a baby so there is no time to be able to paint walls and what not anymore, believe it or not one of my friends actually tiled the kitchen floor (they have a HUGE kitchen), put in new central heating, painted 4 rooms and made 3 windows all by herself before her baby was 9 months old! Having a baby shouldn't stop you painting, I've done it before and is way easier than painting a room when they are toddlers! I have no family near by to look after her so we have done the best we can to get it free from toys and baby clothes as we could. I'm probably in the minority here, but I like to see some children's stuff lying around when looking at family houses, it shows me that a family like mine can live there, I hate the ones where there are no kids stuff on show at all because then I can't visualise what the house would look like with us in there as although I'm tidy I'm not a neat freak

Seriously if you can get the grandparents to have your baby for a day then use it spruce the house up, take some new photos and find a new agent!

    Good luck!

I used to paint when they were down for a nap or at playgroup...it was the only time I had!

I agree with the kids things, I like to see a family home not a blank and austre modern, completely devoid of personalisation room.

According to Propertybee the property first came on the market on 19th June - not January.

That aside, once again it's all down to Location Location Location. I don't think the property is that bad, and there's nothing wrong with the roofline at all - you can see the 3 properties are built on a slight incline; thus why the windows are set at different heights. Of course the roof will vary.

The house itself is OK, but looks dated and uninspiring. There's nothing you can do about the location, though it's a shame something can't be done about that wire fence in front of the property. The lack of parking is another minus, but then same applies to some people living in flats or High Streets - so it isn't the end of the world.

The decor isn't too bad, but it would help if you brightened it up with light colours; decluttered; got rid of the fussy prints, and removed unwanted furniture. You're just making the place look squashed and cramped. Oh, and the kitchen looks tired, too. Try painting the cupboard doors cream.

It sadly lacks kerb appeal, so a paint of the door and window frames plus some hanging baskets and tubs should brighten it up.

I don't think it's overpriced. £120k for a 3 bed house is peanuts these days. Just spruce it up and use a different agent who knows how to take photographs!
