Well let my give more details, she does not have the luxury of a land line so she rang from her mobile, she was in panic state at having no money.
Regarding the interest £100*100000 customers is 10 million quid, I dont think the interest on £10 000 000 is £13k a year do you.
I would not be suprised if RBS is not involved in lending to payday loan companies either at 2000% apr, so 2000% on 10 million, work that out.
And try using a calculator this time.
A landline is not a luxury, a mobile is.
Also, how are Asda getting this interest if the £10,000,000 isn't actually going into their bank account? Can I use the same method to get interest on money I don't have in my account too?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Have we really got to the stage, where a landline is considered a luxury. I always considered a mobile to be a luxury and a landline to be an essential.
Anyway, I thought if say you ordered £100 worth of items, they take out an additional £1 and you don't get the £1 back until such time as stated in T&C's.
So, I'm still trying to work out, if they took £100 out, then changed the order to £99, why do Asda need to take out £99 in addition to the £100 they took out.
It seems pretty black and white, that the OP's sister, shouldn't have been left with no money available to her, whoever is at fault.
Asda reserve the full amount which was £100 for 10 days, they then take the £99 too !!!, so she has nothing left for 10 days.
Regarding a landline as essential, I agree but many are not so lucky. The world is full of usury.
Use microsoft excel to write down all money in and all money out.

In case you have not noticed there is more than 10 days in a year, they pull this stunt week in week out, so I would def say it averages 10 million a year, it may happened to more but they dont realise as they dont have low funds in their bank.
So you are suggesting they do this with 100,000 people every 10 days... so 36.5m per year??
You really do live in cuckoo land don't you!0 -

As mainstreet has already pointed out:
In a small number of cases, some card issuers may hold the full pre-authorisation amount for a limited time (usually 3-10 days). This money will NOT be taken from Your account and is not held by ASDA.
It is her bank who have held the money for 10 days, not asda. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Let's assume for one moment that you are correct (I'm trying to keep a straight face) you're ignoring the fact that if ASDA are reducing the cost of these millions of orders by £1 every time, they're going to be massively out of pocket even if they do get to keep the interest.
I think you're just a troll anyway. Either that, or very, very thick. It's no wonder you and your scrubby family have no money, because nobody wants to pay people without a brain.0
