Another nice one is a sausage casserole with chopped leeks and apple quarters in it.
well i went for this recipe in the end
changed it slightly though
i added some mushrooms and a tin of mixed beans that have been in the cupboard for a while lol ,also about a half tin of sweetcorn that was leftover in the fridge
i didnt have cream so used creme fraiche and also a lil bit of low fat cream cheese
didnt have parsley so used basil also added a lil caster sugar as was quite acidic
well its bloomin scrummy ! :T
the kids had theirs with rice and the eldest asked for second helpings!

I am into making this posh version of sausage and beans at the moment -
Fry the sausages in a saucepan with a chopped onion and some garlic. When the sausages are brown and the onions are soft, bung in a tin of tomatoes and a glug of red wine. Let the tomatoes cook down until the sauce is as thick as you like it, then add a tin of some kind of beans - so far I've tried borlotti and cannelini and both were nice. Chick peas might also work as well.
It's a good standby dish because it's nearly all tins - if you have good sausages you could probably get away without the onions and garlic at a push!
Of course, if you are really OS you will have used dried soaked beans rather than tinned :-)

toad in the hole
sausage casserole
sausage egg and chips
all day breakfast!(yum yum!)
hot dogs
None of them very original I'm afraid but I like good basic grub!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
my favourite is in the oven with gravy, a dollop of red wine, finely sliced onion and sliced mushrooms. Not very different or exciting but easy to cook! Oh and oven chips - par boil and then bung in oven as well in a roasting tin with a couple of teaspoons of olive oil.0

I make curry out of sausages too, just replace the chuncks of meat with thick slices of sausages.0

We had sausages and pasta last night. Just made a tomato and sausage sauce and had it with wholemeal pasta and grated parmesan. It's easy to make and you can freeze leftover sauce.0

Hmmmm I might just do sausages and mash for our dinner tonight or I might feel inspired and spice it up a little with some sauce...
I like the Nando's marinades and I might chop up some partially cooked sausages and cover them in BBQ sauce and then return them to the pan to finish cookingDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
