  • Forgot to ask, I'm making a version of the SW quiche tonight with the cottage cheese as an ingredient, just wanted to know if you can tell it's got cottage cheese in because hubby doesn't like it & I need to know if I can get away with it?!

Also, Fry Light - I didn't realise there were 4 or 5 different varieties!! Which one do most peeps tend to use??

I bought a cooking spray from Home Bargains called Again & Again (100% Rapeseed oil) & wondered if anyone uses this?? Not even sure if it's ok on SW :o

Right, off to [STRIKE]stuff my face with mash[/STRIKE] check on the spuds.

The Sw quiche is really quite lovely my oh doesnt like cottage cheese, but quite happily eats that ;) Tho I do tend to chuck in some peppers and a little flaked chilli to spice it up a bit (bits of chopped new potatoes are nice in it too.

I can only ever find the olive oil and the sunflower oil frylight......i personally prefer the sunflower one. Dunno about the one from home bargains tho???? maybe you could work it out on the syn calculator on the SW website?

Has the mash stuffing session finished yet lol :rotfl::rotfl: well its free food so why feel guilty :A

My Fruit Roulade has just come out of the oven.....its looking good so far :rotfl:
ive got a bowl of chopped rasberries and a peach that was looking a bit sad in the fruit bowl ready to throw (sorry, arrange over it). when its cooled it can be smothered in the rest of the quark that iv beaten up to make it a bit softer.......then It can be devoured at tea time with the pretendy cream - which Ive gotta say Is pretty damn good, I've had about 3 big spoons just now.......for research purposes you understand :D:D

The real taste test will be when my oh comes home......I will report back later

Ive also got that again & again
I dont think it is syn free as its 100% oil wheres the frylite is oil. watered down, and stabilised.

Happy to be proved wrong tho as mine is gathering dust in the cupbaord!

I have the sunflower one but am on the lookout for the butter one. My sister says its quite good for making garlic-bread-a-like by spraying on HEB bread and spreading on some lazy garlic and putting under the grill, but it is eluding,me at the mo have not found it on my many travels to lots of supermarkets.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

This is a simple recipe for bhajis and raita:-

    Bhajis & Cucumber Raita

    Fry Light, for spraying
    1 medium onion, chopped
    170g / 6oz potato, cooked & chopped
    227g / 8oz canned chick peas, drained
    1 egg beaten
½ tsp baking powder (½ syn per teaspoon)
2 tsp dried Bombay mixed spice
    1 tsp dried mixed herbs
    Salt & ground black pepper

To make the bhajis spray a non-stick frying pan with Fry Light and cook the onion for approximately 5 minutes until tender. Transfer to a bowl, add the potato and chick peas and mash together. Stir in the remaining ingredients and form into small balls and flatten slightly.

Arrange the bhajis on a baking tray that has been sprayed with Fry Light. Bake in a preheated oven at 220C/425F/Gas Mark 7 for approximately 15 minutes until golden. Serve immediately with the cucumber raita.

    Raita

    ½ cucumber, chopped
    Salt
113g / 4oz very low fat natural yogurt
    4 spring onions, chopped

To make the raita place the cucumber in a colander, sprinkle with salt and leave for 30 minutes. Dry well and transfer into a bowl. Stir in the yogurt and spring onions and chill until ready to serve.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
