Hi everyone - I'm interested in joining SW tomorrow, and have absolutely no idea what to expect.
Can anyone explain to me without abbreviations or anything what I can expect?
One other problem - I'm a guy. Not trying to be sexist, but I presume most of those at SW are ladies. Do they take kindly to blokes joining, or am I best doing something else?
Thanks
i'm a girly Woot, but i will tell you as it is,i'm a little older i think and so won't wrap it up nicely if it needs to be said,
i don't know how it works,i guess its lots of food that you get to digest fast,i know that when i started Slimming World i farted A LOT!
i like chocolate biscuits, but i much prefer cake and if i need to syn i tend to eat cake, but i like to be syn free for a few days and 'save' them for my cake
you'll be ok here, but remember we are mostly women so try not to gender generalise, and unless you have green eyes like my husband, call me fat at your peril :rotfl::rotfl:
Welcome mate!0 -
Just remembered, I'm going to the cinema today! Any tips for SW-friendly munchies? I usually go to the corner shop and buy lollypops - how synful is a chupachups? (find it lasts longer than a bag of sweets and is less calorific). Might also get a curly wurly.0

in his defense Diz,my husband is being ironic,i've said it before on here but i am a chubby chaser and my husband carries weight, although he is losing it recently,so lots of sausage rolls, pork pies and danish pastries for him!!
i'll just smell his breathe when he's eaten them
not sure about everyone else, but my sandwiches still have to have a lid,so i B choice a wholemeal roll, shame they don't stay as fresh as bread for very longmaybe i need to have toasted buns

Hi Wootball
It's true that it is mostly women at SW, but there is a bloke in my group, and there were two in my last group, before I moved, so they are around! The really annoying thing is that they do seem to lose weight so much faster and easier than women - the chap in my group lost 4lb this week, and then went on to tell us about his boozy night out with the lads. I would cheerfully throttle him if he wasn't otherwise such a pleasant chap :-)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
space raiders......Ive not had them since I was at school back in the days when they were 10p lol. I looked in Asda and they only had them in big boxes along with mini cheddars and hula hoops.....and I could just not have been trusted
Im craving them now  Ive asked my oh to try the corner shop on his way back from golf this afternoon :rotfl:.........see what you've started now !! lmao
Do they sell the weightwatchers hoops in asda ( they are salt & vinegar) have to walk quite far out of my way and not going unnecesarily!
No filo pastry so no samosas in my local shopping centre today but 99p stores had the Apple lites in again so bought 4 boxeswill try not to eat any more as Ive already scoffed both of them already
for today
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Im killing today, I want the crunch! I fancy a packet of crisps er I mean snack a jacks already
Has anyone made the samosas that were on the SW website yet?
Im feeling the needhttp://www.slimmingworld.com/healthy_eating/recipe_veg_samosas.asp
Nope not tried those...they look pretty scrummy tho, Ive made the onion Bahjis a few times from the curry feast book.....theyre a doddle to do and 1 syn each if you want the recipe posting?
Oh and dont know if you do the caramel snack a jacks- but your better off buying butterkist toffee popcorn, you can have the same weight 25g and its same syns 5 tastes soooo much better. Asda 3 big bags for £30 -
Well, I finished my fish week and what were the results of WI I here you cry? 0.5Ib off. sucks. Not convinced it entirely down to 'the plan' I think it's me- looking back at my weight losses no matter what I do I have a good loss one week, the an small loss (or even an unexpected gain!) the next. And this week was definitely one where I was scheduled a rubbish loss (and at least it wasn't a gain!) Ah, well. It'll show next week. It will.
onwards and downwards.
