These are nice too for people doing Green days:-

Vegetarian Scotch Eggs. (syn free on Green plan)
    4 eggs
    1 pack Smash
    Couscous

Hard boil eggs and let them go cold.
Make Smash up as normal, and leave to cool.
Shell the eggs, and cover with the Smash then roll in couscous.
Bake in a hot oven (gas 8) until golden and crisp.

Serve with salad or syn free chips/wedges and baked beans.
Good to take on a picnic.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Out of interest, who eats normally during WI day.....am I the only person who becomes loo obsessed and scared to drink liquids past 4pm lol

I do that! When I weighed at 5pm I refused to eat or drink anything after I had by lunch at 12noon! Now I weigh at 7pm so I usually have a drink before I leave work at 3pm then nothing else till after weigh in! I also try to eat things that aren't too heavy like salads instead of baked potatoes lol!!

If you use cornflakes to coat the scotch eggs you'll have to syn them, try these:-

Scan Bran Scotch Eggs(Syns: Free if using Scan Bran as a Healthy Extra)
    Syn-Free Sausages
    Eggs (Boiled)
    1 Egg (Beaten)
1 Scan Bran (crushed using a rolling pin!)

    1. Boil the eggs, allow to cool and then remove shells.
    2. Remove skins from sausages. Mould sausage meat into rounds and flatten.
    3. Coat each egg in sausage meat until completely covered, dip into beaten egg mix, and then roll into Scan Bran crumbs until coated.
    4. Place on a baking tray and cook at 180° for about 25 minutes.
    5. Serve hot or cold with salad.

Variations:Add 1 finely chopped onion to the sausage meat.
Add lean minced bacon to the sausage meat.
Add 1 level tbsp of tomato ketchup (1 syn) to the sausage meat.
Add curry powder, herbs or spices to the sausage meat.

Thanks consultant, I was going to have the cornflakes as they are the only wheat free option, however i decided not to coat them with anything in the end (didn't really fancy the cornflakes lol). They were quite nice but think I would prefer them cold next time. Will definately add a chopped onion in future - really don't know why I don't think of these things!!

This is where the 'do it at home'rs are better off - WI is 8am before anything has passed my lips! :D

Spent the day feeling rotten about being bad - then realised I haven't eaten anything bad today, just spent the whole day thinking about it!!!:rotfl:

Hi everyone - I'm interested in joining SW tomorrow, and have absolutely no idea what to expect.

Can anyone explain to me without abbreviations or anything what I can expect?

One other problem - I'm a guy. Not trying to be sexist, but I presume most of those at SW are ladies. Do they take kindly to blokes joining, or am I best doing something else?

    Thanks :)

Well I joined last night, and had a really good time. The Extra Easy plan was explained and seems ideal - but quite strange considering I've done Weight Watchers in the past and was used to things like pasta, potatoes etc being heavily restricted.

I've had a completely Syn free day today and had both my healthy extras, but I can't shake the feeling that I've eaten too much of the wrong thing:

Breakfast was three eggs cooked with Fry Light, and 2 rashers bacon with all visible fat removed and all fat removed during cooking using kitchen towel - then an apple, a nectarine and a plum.

    HEA was 350ml skimmed milk.

Lunch was a big portion of wholewheat pasta with lettuce, tomato, red peppers and chicken breast (skinless) with cajun spice, and a nectarine.

Tea was a plate of new potatoes, boiled with a can of baked beans (beans on jacket potato is my favourite, but we had no jacket spuds in) and 2 more rashers of bacon cooked the same way as breakfast. Dessert was an apple and a bowl of strawberries.

HEB was 2 Dark Rye Ryvita slices with 1/3 can tuna.

I feel like I've eaten like a pig - is this normal for day one??

Thats totally fine, but you wont lose weight without syns, have a square of chocolate or a biscuit or a bag of crisps or something! :T:T:T:T

Can you explain why you think I won't lose weight without eating Syns? There is no scientific reason to be eating Syns - hence them being an allowance rather than a requirement. They are there to sweeten to deal for 'low willpowers' that can't give up their chocolate digestives, in my opinion.

Of course, open to being proven wrong :)

Q: How do I know how many Syns to have?
A: For steady weight loss most people enjoy around 10 to 15 Syns a day, though this varies with height, weight and lifestyle. Your Consultant will help you decide your individual Syn allowance.

    Q: What are flexible Syns?
A: There's plenty of evidence that being too rigid means you're more likely to give up and put your weight back on and that allowing yourself to be a little more flexible is the key to long term success. If 10 Syns a day is where you need to be on a regular basis, but sometimes it's just too tight for comfort, it's far better to allow yourself extra Syns every now and again without the punishment of compensating the next day. Never again will you be able to accuse yourself of 'blowing it' just because you needed a few more Syns on the odd day or two.

    It also challenges your metabolism.

You dont have to have syns every day, but you should have at the minimum 5 per day. If you dont eat them everyday, then you could like our Dizzy have a Rocky horror or whatever if you are out socialising there's no need to "say no" to that glass of wine, or whatever.

I don't know about the science, but I *think* most people here will tell you that going without syns altogether does you no favours when it comes to weigh in. Good luck!!
