If you go on mysupermarket.com it shows tesco sainsbury asda and ocado stores and you can check out what theyve got in there. you can just flick between the stores on whatever aisle youre browsing....I always check before I do my shopping as ive got asda & sainsburys almost next door to each other. (its also pretty good for checking syn values on SW site before you buy any new stuff on offer) Ive had a quick look at asda but cant see any salt and vinegar hoops. but I dont know if the other stores are near you?

onion bhajis makes 12 1 syn each

    200g/7oz onions, peeled, halved
    and thinly sliced

    50g/2oz gram flour

    1tsp lemon juice

    2 tsp ground cumin

    1 tbsp coriander seeds crushed

1 tsp deseeded and chopped fresh green chilli *ive used dried chilli flakes and its worked just as well when ive not had any fresh.

    1 tbsp freshly chopped coriander

    1/4 tsp Baking powder

    Salt to taste

    Fry light

place all the ingredients in a bowl and a few table spoons of water to form a thick batter that coats the onion. leave to rest for 15 minutes, this softens slightly the onion and marinades.

(This is the messy bit:eek:) using your fingers mix again to combine thoroughly.

preheat the oven to 220/ gas 7 line a baking sheet with baking paper and using your fingers or a dessert spoon drop 12 small mounds of mixture onto the sheet. spray with fry light and bake for 15-20 mins until golden.

remove and serve immediately sprinkled with paprika and a nice yoghurt and mint dip :D nom nom nom

I personally think you guys doing the fishy week need a medal!!....I really struggle with the stuff (unless its from the chippy lol:o) seriously tho I can handle tuna and ive just this last month forced some haddock and at a push smoked but i'm really a bit of a wimp with the rest of it.....I think I may be affected by some deep trauma from when I was a child maybe as I cant even do fish fingers :rotfl:

To be honest ive improvised when the cupboards have been a bit sparce.....as long as you have onion, gram flour and lemon you can get away with curry powder and chiili powder to flavour them.....theyre not gonna be as good....but they do hit the spot when your having a free curry ;)
Im not the greatest cook in the world.....Im certainly no Mrs M (I wish!) A lot of what I do I usually end up adapting from what it should be but its all trial and error and if it tastes ok who cares eh :D

Yes I'd rather it came off a bit more evenly.. I seem to have a good loss then put on the following week. I take 2 steps forward then 1 back. I have to keep telling myself that it is going down and that is the main thing.

Doesn't help that I am v v impatient and want to lose 3lb a week every week LOL

Bhajis sound scrum... thank you ...we are partial to a curry so these will go down a treat with the SF raita and tandori chicken. The Chickpea Massala on the SW website is nice. I made it the other day and added carrots, spinich to add some speedfood.
