    Excellent! I'm only having a 1/3 of the pack and saving the rest for lunches/dinner in the week.

    I have actually made so much that you could all come round for tea and there would be seconds!:rotfl:

    Consultant31 the hummous came out amazingly! thanks!! I put some paprika in it too to add a little something!

    I don't do recipes, but here's what I put in the turkey dish:
    Marinated chunks of turkey breast in powered cumin, coriander, ginger, pepper, paprika, chilli powder, tumeric, a squeeze of lime and 1 tsp oil (2 syns)
    then cook in pan (on same day or next day in my case!) with onions, garlic, red and green peppers, peas, mushroom, courgette (any veg you can get your hands on) and a tin of tomatoes. Add more cumin, coriander, tumeric and paprika. Add half a chopped red chilli pepper. add some cinnamon to get that lovely aroma. squeeze of lemon before serving. I think that's it I dont really remember I just make it up as I go along!!

    Serve with HM hummous, coucous and lots of salad!
    you should get that sent into the SW mag :T Im starving now sounds fab....im sure I can smell it thru my laptop lol :rotfl:

    been digging in the cupboard and found some fruity flapjacks - please could someone put these thru the syn calculator for me??

    1 serving = 55g
    kcals = 223 per serving
    carbs = 30.2
    protein = 2.8
    fats = 10.5
    sodium = 0.1

    thanks!

  • Not sure if it was just my laptop or was this site going really slow a few minutes ago??

    betty, your turkey curry sounds gorgeous :drool: I've just had some of the Ainsley Harriot Spice Sensation cous cous for lunch & it's 1/2 syn for 100g cooked on EE. It was absolutely lovely, I had mine with leftover tuna salad from yesterday & it was lush!!

    Btw, anyone know if the above cous cous can be used tomorrow if I put it in the fridge after cooling?? The sensible thing would have been to half the packet & just make up half for today, but I never thought of that :o

    Thank you to whoever responded to my fishpie query earlier, I should have written the name down before I started typing!! I am a bit worried about the fromage frais curdling when it's in the oven now, before I was just worrying about it tasting sweet, lol!! What to do?? I might live dangerously & just risk it, I'll let you know how it goes.

    red, I'm allowed 6 of the Savour Bakes sesame crispbreads from Aldi on EE Healthy Extras. They're lovely, 59p & you get loads in a packet.

    Yep thats totally fine! It will last for days ;)

    You might want to put a upturned plate over the bowl or lidded tupperware to stop it drying out tho
    :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
    Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
    So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:

    .

    Ta, it was scrummy. Less of a curry than it was going to be - but i usually do that, start cooking and then change my mind halfway! lol

    With couscous I always make the whole pack then let the leftovers cool in a tupperware and eat the leftovers cold the next day out of the fridge. I actually prefer it cold to warm.

  • dizzy, it was you that said about the fishpie, thanks again :D

    I'm loving the sound of those lasagne sheet 'doritos', might try that as an odd treat sometime.

    Thanks lynz & betty, I thought the cous cous would probably be ok because you can buy it chilled in supermarkets, but thought I'd better check if anyone had tried it & lived to tell the tale ;)
