Thanks. I am going to try to do green and red days sometimes so I can have a bit of extra bread if I need to. I will also try ryvita minis, however i have not been a big fan of ryvita products in the past!
sweetserendipity - I do intend to have celery/veg but you try telling my body (esp during TOTM) that it's the same as a bag of salt n vinegar walkers! lol. Seriously tho I will try veg and dips as I want to acclimatise my body to that kind of food and kick my horrible crisps/choc cravings for good. thanks.
I too am a big fan of the "CRUNCH" In fact all my truly fave foods have the crunch, onion rings, spring rolls, samosas , prawn crackers, tortilla chips, ritz crackers, biscuits, crisps....() ) It is always the crunch that is my downfall.
WW S&V mini hoops are 3.5 syns - you could have 4 bags of them in a dayThey are pretty good! ( although a piffling serving
) Often found in poundland Im going to get some when I next see them. S&V snack a jacks arnt bad. Marmite rice cake (bag of) are 5. Pork scratchings ( 28g bag) are 8.5 IIRC , but I haven't had these for ages. Also buy golden lights they are 5 per bag as well, although I cant seem to cope with having the multi-pack in the house!
Taco shells are 2 and I have these with my chilli instead of tortilla chips.
I have found the turkey rashers ( instead of bacon) will cook really crisply under the grill.
Breakfast without bread, well Ive been doing it and its OK, upping the protein eggs, bacon/ turkey rashers. I used to think breakfast wasnt breakfast without fried bread ( omg) but I just couldnt carry on eating like that!
Breakfast I usually have fruit & yoghurt combo or a SW style fryup, and alpen lites.
If you are killing for the crunch grapenuts are a HEB I believe but I have no scales at the mo and Im not bothering with cereal at the moment. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
for the crunchy cravings have you tried cooking some lasagne sheets then spraying a little fry light, sprinkle with something like garlic salt and paprika...then use a knife or pizza cutter and cut into triangles then bake in the oven til they go crispy.....theyre like doritos, you can make a free dip with from frais and garlic or whatever takes your fancy and its a nice little syn free treat for when you feel the urge my oh loves em
Sorry Dizzy, these need to be synned. I raised this in the old thread as I wanted to make nachos out of them, the unanimous was that they need to be synned as a "misuse of free foods" Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? If you can't get to Asda for the mullerlight offer, the co-op/Somerfield are doing a pack of 6 for £2. Also a pack of 4 Shape Zero yoghurts are £1.
Can I ask if anyone has a fishpie recipe, please?? I usually follow a Jamie Oliver recipe that uses creme fraiche (mixed in with the raw fish, grated carrot & celery, fresh or dried chilli & seasoning, topped with mash & bunged in the oven for an hour) but I think the creme fraiche is too high in syns for EE?? I've got some fat-free fromage fraise & I wondered if I could use that instead?? Would that make it too sweet?? I always think of fromage fraise as a 'sweet' ingredient rather than 'savoury'. Hmm, just remembered I usually put grated cheese in the mix as well so I'll have to look at that as well
betty, could you have raw carrots/celery with the hummus to give you a bit of crunch??
I use from frais to mash my spuds with and find its fine and saves a heck of a lot of syns!!, I also add it in to curries (tho I do it at the end as it can curdle) you could use your HEA for the cheese or just syn it ?0 -

Oh Il have a word at class then as it was the consultant at xmas who gave us the recipe for it,
she said as long as you werent living on it i.e substituting it for meals and following the 1/3 superfree thing it was no different from a side dish with your meal as the ingredients were free. Mmmm that suprises me as she is a Trainer for consultants too now so she is usually really good with stuff0 -

This is probably one of those common sense things... fine now and then but not free if you have loads every day!
Sounds good - but I only have green lasagne and that might be a bit weird!!! lol
Thanks for the ideas lynzpower I will try to get some WW S&V mini hoops or snack a jacks (what's the syns on 1 bag of them? is it 5, same as marmite flavour?)
Taco shells are a great idea i will def get them too.
thanks! B.Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
