ooohhhh YES -pomegranites must be eaten on their own -cut in half and picked out with a pin nomnomnom....
I must be such a PIG because I only ate with a pin when I was a child - as an adult I buy 'em so I eat 'em the way I like - I peel back the skin and just nosh! *tut* messing about with a pin:D

having said that, I am a PIG, I put a pound on last week - how does that happen? ;) I do think I am eating too much - lunch that I took into work today, I was feeling full halfway thru it but I ate on to the end. Must stop doing that, and drink more water.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Consultant31, does this mean my mushy pea curry made with 3 tins of mushy pease & 1 tin of baked beans with sweetener & onions has enough free veg without adding anymore to my plate except rice?

awww Jinnywren - only if one-third of the whole is onions! And that would include the rice iyswim - the 3 tins of peas, the tin of beans plus the rice, say that amounted to two bowls full of the curry/rice, then another bowl would have to be filled with chopped onions. Some recipes (I've just looked) use a tin of tomatoes as well and that would count towards your third.

*I hope consultant agrees, but I may be wrong*

I will let you off with eating your pomegranites that way ;):D
I think Im a sentimental old fart -so because eating it with a pin is the way my dad taught me to eat them ...i still do :p

Can't remember who asked (sorry) but for the tuna "pate" I :-
    • drained a tin of tuna in water *awful stuff on its own* :rotfl:
    • dropped in a bowl then added
    • 2 tbs quark,
    • 4 capers (don't know why 4 :p)
    • and blitzed it with a stick blender
    • then I mixed in 2 chopped spring onions, seasoning and a squirt of lemon juice
    • then stuck it in the fridge to firm up
well here are my meals for today -don't worry I won't inflict piccies on you often ;)
    good ole brekkie nomnomnom

I shall have to try that fish week, Mrs M. I can get to three days of fish then I am bored with it. Gotta do something though! Your food photos are lovely, you do lay things out nicely. *note to self: lay food out nicely and eat it slowly*

PS re the pomegranates - I am sure I remember being able to eat them under the desk at school using the pin method!

I totally agree....theyre pretty rubbish for 1 syn  I was only eating them for a change too as my stomach was soooo painful that week and yoghurt was about the easiest thing to eat. I think Id rather have suffered the pain of a rolo lol :rotfl:

Oh well if you lot hate them then that's more for me - I love the new york style. would happily give up 1 syn for them! yumyumyum!

I don't bother with the food diary sheets I just got a small note book. I draw lines to seperate into days then more lines for HEX, syns & free foods. I write everything down in my book and it keeps me on track. HTH

I do the same - got a little notebook that fits in my bag so I can't skip planning/diarising when i'm out
Hope these recipes might be of use to some of you:-

    Hummus

    Three tins of chickpeas
Juice and rind of two lemons
    Salt
    1 fat clove of garlic
Tub of very low fat fromage frais
    Blend all together until smooth.

All these recipes keep well in the fridge for a couple of days, and would be equally nice on crispbread or as a filling for a jacket potato.

Ooh I think that's tomorrow's lunch with some ryvita and salad! YUM! thanks! :)

Wish I could get my willpower back - keep slipping at the mo :(

Hello, had a couple of so so days as we have had guests but I did manage to lose 1 pound, so not too bad.

We're off on holiday next week, staying in hotels so there will be a lot of eating out - I'll try to make good choices and not drink too much!

    Today I am eating:

BF: shredded wheat and some fruit
L: pasta and HM tom sauce.
D: baked fish, potatoes and carrots.
    Trying to keep in budget.
