    Hi girls,

    A quick question...

Im going out for a hen night tonight and it is starting with a meal at an Italian restaurant, La Vita. I have only been eating superfree foods today and Im willing to go flexi the rest of the week so I can have a few drinks (weigh in Thursday) - but what would be my best choices from the menu?

    Hi Guys..

Been lurking for a bit, and am inspired by your losses! :T

I keep trying to do Slimming World, have joined class a few times this year but I don't think its for me anymore. I think they're more geared to Extra Easy and I really can't be let lose with carbs AND meat!:( I always did well on green and red days previously.

I did Atkins and low carb for a few weeks and lost quite a bit of weight but we went for a weekend away and there was pizza involved.. needless to say the weight came back on!!

I have decided to mainly do Original/Red days ala MrsM.. if i could have your successes too that would be great :D

I've been on red days since Sunday so I shall weigh then..

    Food diary for today

    B - 3 slices ham, nectarine, tangerine
L - beef stew with carrots, leek and oxo
D - HM burger, wholemeal roll(HEB), cheese slice(HEA), Potato wedged, salad.
S -5 ryvita(7.5) laughing cow (0.5 HEA) beetroot, squares(5), pork scratchings:eek:(8.5) (They were left over from low carbing)
    milk in tea (0.5HEA)

so 21 syns today - am not too fussed by that as I didn't have many yesterday but those pesky pork scratching were my downfall!! never again!

Anyway enough waffling about me, I hope everyone has a great weekend x
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

  • Hi all, TGI Friday! :D

Well done to all the losers and again *positive vibes* to all those who need/want them!

    Todays food has been:

Breakfast: Weetabix (heb), Soya milk (hea) and 2 plums.

    Snack: Grapes.

Lunch: Lettuce, Tomatoes, Peppers, Grated Carrots, Sweetcorn, Cornichons, Pickled Onions, 2 new potatoes and chicken.
    Kiwi, Mango, Pineapple, Strawberries.

    Snack: 10 calorie cup-a-soup (0.5 syns)

Dinner: SW sausage, slice of bacon, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms (URGH!) and an egg.
    Blackberries, Raspberries and Strawberries.

After i walked the dog yesterday i got onto my wii fit for the first time in 192 days :o and did 45 mins - i love it so no idea why i left it so long!

Off to the gym tonight and will book in for Sunday mornings aqua class when i'm there so that's the weekends exercise sorted along with walking the dog. I feel i really do need to up my exercise if i'm going to carry on losing weight - and after all i own a wii fit and pay for a gym membership so i have no excuse!

Hope everyone's having a good day!

Oh, and welcome  to all newbies!

    Evening/ Afternoon all :)

I decided it would be easier to go Extra easy today after all

    Food is/was
Break: massive bowl of fruit ( blueberries, strawbs, banana) and half a muller
Lunch: jacket pot and beans after I completely forgot to take the CC salad out with me :wall:
Dinner: Mexican meatballs, rice, salad, sauce is made of passatta and chopped toms, loads of mushrooms onions pepper and im going to get some courgette in there even though OH doesnt like it (apparently)
Snacks: CC salad when I got back piled with more veg than usual grilled courgette, radish, onion, pepper, carrot and a blob of cottage cheese another punnet of blueberries and half a muller. Bacon WW crisps ( cant see these online they are new but am counting them as 4 unless someone tells me otherwise!)
Couple of pints of Water and a pint of orange NAS squash
Have got some shortbread fingers so might have a couple tonight ( 5 each) while watching some dross on tv :D unless OH brings me in a dime bar, you never know!

Dietcoke watch- not too well on this today 3 cans whilst out but it was scorching and in two places cheaper than water so why not
fag-watch - have found some ancient ones ( half packet) that I will use up then its over, did not smoke while out and did not miss it at all.

Feeling very pleased with that, a good day :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Hey to all the new faces (and the familiar ones too!)

I've had a pretty good day, went to see some of my old work mates which brightened up my morning - unfortunately I managed to scoff a finger doughnut! In spite of that hicuup,

I've stayed away from synning since then, and I have lots of fruit to much through. Fresh cream doughnut is down as 13 syns in the book so I'm gonna leave it at that for tonight!

    Food is..

B - 2 wholemeal bread (HEB) bacon, banana
Snack - fresh cream finger doughnut (oops!) :o
    L - pasta salad (lettuce, cucumber,tomato,onion)
    Snack - apple
D - Baked potato with beans and cheese (1/2 HEA)
    Snack - Strawberries, blueberries,melon

Other HEA is for the milk in my tea :)

    Speak to you al later!

dizzy, what's this dyno rod soup you're on about? xxxx

The recipe for Speed Food Soup (renamed by Dizzy for it's 'shifting' properties) is an excellent way to get your 5 a day and more. In group, we found that the members who had a bowl each day went on to lose more weight than those who didn't have it, so it has become something of a fixture (in my house anyway) :D

Speed food Soup (syn free on Green and EE)

    1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
    2 vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)

Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

    Freezes well and tastes great!

I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Hello all, my day got off to a cracking start - I had melon, strawberries, all bran and muller light for first breakfast, then a ryvita multigrain with a scrape of FABULOUS chickenliver pate for second breakfast :p I am counting the scrape as 2 syns, and I think I need to freeze a load of it, perhaps in an ice cube tray then I can flick out 2 syns worth a day to put onto scan bran or ryvita, yum yum, makes healthy extras worth eating :T

Then I went into town because the sun went in here, and headed for the market where the fish stall will prepare a "gondola" of fresh shellfish, octopus etc and salad (and unfortunately some garlicky ciabatta ;) ) and a glass of very tasty white wine.

Still feeling virtuous-ish I returned home to find a friend awaiting me with a crunchie. Ummm 8.5 syns. I halved it and popped half in the freezer. I have just retrieved the frozen half and eaten it. It wasn't difficult.

But.... I am making some blackberry & apple crumbles with my glut, they will all be given away as I'm not a pastry/bread/crumble fan anyway. However, I've left one uncovered and I plan to make a meringue topping using sweetener, and that one will be MINE! I can use the b/berry & apple as a HEB and syn the sugar I used in the fruit. Does that sound ok?

Has anyone else noticed an improvement in cellulite since doing SW? See I'm confused as to whether these changes are diet related or age related, but my jodphur thighs suddenly seem to have vanished. Even when I weighed 8 st I still had thighs with a life of their own, but now I'm almost tempted to try getting into a pencil skirt
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • Hi all, I've not been around for a while, and there's no way I can read all the posts I've missed (cor, you lot can't half yak).

If anyone asked me anything, apologies for not replying, however, there are some very knowledgeable people on here so I'm sure nobody's floundering.

I wondered if anyone thinks we could do with a new thread - this one's enormous and as I understand, this can slow things down a lot. I'm happy to start one, if everyone agrees :)

To the posters who are new to SW (or renewing an old aquaintance), there's absolutely no need for you to follow the Extra Easy plan if you don't want to. The Original (red) and Green plans are still there for you to choose if you wish. The idea behind EE is that it's the most like 'normal' eating which hopefully takes away a lot of the stress some people find themselves under when having to plan, plan, plan.

Remember, this is NOT a diet, it's a healthy eating plan for life!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I bet you'd look gorgeous especially if you wear high heels too. Go for it - why not?
