I love laughing cow triangles, eat them almost every day for my HEa, thanks for the tip.

I am cooking the coq a vin out of the SW World of Flavours book, and it is smelling so good, can't wait to get my chops around that, I know OH will like it, not so sure about the teenagers who hate mushrooms and celery. Telling them that it has booze in it (red wine) might soften the blow, :D and make it more appealing. If they don't like it, they can have toast later. :p

The sauce is quite thin, lots of liquid in the recipe, so will try to cook it down a bit and the chicken has gone a funny colour in the red sauce ;)

Will let you know later if it was good and worth the ingredients.

    Afternoon all

I had a text today to say that my close friend is going in for his brain surgery tomorrow :(. When I got the news that he was ill I went totally off the rails and put on 10lbs. However this time I have taken the news calmly, and even though I was in Tesco at the time, I didn't buy anything crap at all.

    x

I hope things go ok for your friend tomorrow.......they will look after him ;)
well done for keeping your sensible head on while you were in tesco :T :T happy claps for you cos I know you miss them lol

2 1/2lb gain !!!!!! im bouncing around at the bottom of 11's for weeks now and am completely self sabotaging each weekend and cannot drop into the 10's as a result !!

i just love my alcohol .....but it doesnt love me :( its all synned - mostly - just causes a temp gain of about 5 lb each weekend that doesnt always shift in time for WI

Arrghhh....didnt dare stop for meeting as this is 3rd time this has happened now - up and down up and down !!

A friend that goes to group saves almost all her syns up to have her vodka & wine (s) & takeaways at the weekend....It works for some-but It never worked for me saving syns......I got to the stage I was borrowing the following weeks lol :o

I cant drink now with my meds (that and I already feel half cut most of the time with my wobbles anyway :p) but when I did I found it really hard to juggle whether I sat down with a glass of red or a kit kat thru the week  booze is sooooo high in syns even when you have shorts a double is still nearly a kitkat! so im kinda glad now I dont have to choose ;)........tho I would like a big glass of merlot now & again if I didnt need carrying after it :D

    Evening all

Flutterby-Camp -is Camp coffee -its the old fashione liquid stuff.. I make an iced coffee every evening -Im an addict :p. I could make it with instant coffee for 0syns -but I love camp, my dad used to put it me in cold milk when I was ickle and it brings back lovely memories every time I have it :D. I can't get it out here so hubbies mate dragged me 6 bottles back from the Uk ;)

Mumof2.... OH BUM -I didn't think you would be making it yet -I meant to say I reduce the amount of liquid I use (I do in most SW recipes)... you know if/when you make it again (tis one of my faves) ... I make the sauce 1st, with less stock and then reduce it right down so it thickens BEFORE I put the chicken in (and yes it goes pinky :p)... I also use breasts not thighs.... the Tuscan chicken is nice too (and uses less ingredients) and again I use breasts... hope you like it...
ooooohh ohhhh and as a cheaper but just as tasy dish -I do the coq au vin sauce without the chicken and its yummy on pasta ;) ..ooh oohh and I only use 1 rasher of bacon per portion (smoked is best)-I think they put far too much bacon in -especially when you are having chicken too....

Redmel -I often have my bolognaise, chilli in a bowl and have it with home made weges ...I actually prefer it :D

Lynz power -I use 198g new potatoes, 227g jacket/old potatoes with skins on for my heB -I can't see it making much difference -I don't buy "jackets" -we like ickle potatoes baked more than "jacket" ones :rotfl:

heck that was some waffle :o
