I have a little question for you lovely people, whats your favourite SW recipe book? Think I may order another but not sure which is best, don't go to classes so not able to have a flick through. Thanks :)

I like the SAUCY SECRETS book (no thats not another excuse for your warped mind to go off on one Niandra :rotfl:)

Loads of syn free or very low syn from around the world.
I make a lot of my stir fry stuff from there and my pasta sauces or just ones to go with fish. Also some good dips in it.

    Afternoon all

yoemma - I've been there, it hurts like hell now but I promise it will get better! I've had the time of my life whilst being single so look at it as a positive thing. Everything ahppends for a reason.

dizzyk - sorry you couldn't get the ones you wanted, but at least they are sorting something for you. A very close friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with a non-cancerous brain tumour, very scary time, he is waiting for an op which should be in next few weeks.

    Green Day:

B - honey nut shredded wheat (HEB) and skimmed milk (HEA)
L - giant salad, pasta, HM pot salad - LF mayo (1.5syns), lentil pie
D - small jacket spud, LF coleslaw (3.5syns), cheese (HEA and HEB)
    Snacks - apple, banana, pineapple
Drinks - water, NAS squash, water
    Exercise - 45mins stroll

    Total syns = 5

I've had quick dinner of jacket spud as I need to get on with an assignment tonight but if I'm still peckish later I'll have a small stirfry (what I'd planned for tea) as I have leftover veg that needs to be used up today.

Well done losers, hope you all had good days

I hate to mention this, but someone did to me the other day and I really appreciated it. There are some syns in your menu - the soup is 4.5, the tuna filler is 1.5 per spoonful, and the cholesterol drink is 4.5, and the cheese is 3.5 per 28g, that could soon mount up.
I did this before and thought I knew best, and substituted left right and centre, and here I am back again with my cap in hand realising that they do know best!

The dynorod soup is awesome - it is just like Heinz mixed veg as you said Dizzy - very comforting. Can I put it down as a super free food? I am really enjoying the extra easy plan!

Hey thanks....I was trying to log onto SW website to syn everything up there for Crisp£ but you beat me to it :T also theres really no fruit or veg in there apart from what you're going to have for your snack/treat, you need to have 1/3 fruit veg as part of what you eat.

    ForB
Yes the dynorod soup can go down as your superfree intake. Today ive only eaten superfree so far....fruit & yog for brekkie then 2 bowls of dyno rod after hosp (to finish pan and make more) plus 3 plums.....then tonight when OH gets back I'm doing HM syn free sausage with chips&beans (cos ive had well over 1/3 superfree thru the day ;)and im wanting some comfort food as im a little stressy  )

The soup is amazingly yummy aint it :p

Thanks for the advice I really do appreciate it. I really dont think I am getting my head around this SW at all so complicated I must try not to give in though (tempted to try WW):(:o

    Hi all!

I have not a prayer of catching up with you all, but needless to say I made it back from barcelona.

IT IS SO NOT SW FREINDLY!!

Menus without a single vegetable or fruit on  Not just once, every time!
The nearest thing to veg = patatas bravas!
    No salads- anywhere???
Had to literally hunt down a market for a poxy fruit salad
Bread taking up 30% of most menus
Chorizos! Croquettes! Cheese! Bread! Beer! Fried potatoes! Calemares!!!!
Even croquettes- served on a piece of bread!
Severe lack of diet coke, or any diet drinks!
Beer cheaper than a diet coke or even water
    Absolutely out-of-control- spirit measures!
Iberico ham which is mainly visible fat
Even sisters wedding breafast had the most minature amount of veg on- but it was the first we had seen in days ( handful of carrots & green beans)

Lets just say it was bloody hard work out in Girona/Barcelona. It really was. If you want a SW destination, it just wasnt it! It just wasnt!

In 4 days, I have put on 4lbs

Both me and OH feel dreadful really, belly not coping well with the catering on offer! Not much food in the house so continuing off plan today ( quorn burger in a white roll from freezer, with some lettuce - no food in really at all) but tomorrow im straight down the market to fill the cupbaords and get back into it tomorrow, I cant wait!!!

:D Hope everyone has done better than me, sorry I cant keep up, but back now so hope to see how you are all doing xxxx
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Have you managed to do your shopping yet? maybe if you try following the menus that MRSM put together for you?

Its really just about looking at what you're eating and cutting out and replacing some of the higher fat/synned foods

If you made your own Dyno rod soup...its syn free and tastes like heinz veg soup

If you made your own filling for the jacket spud with a tin of tuna & some corn with a level tbl spoon of extra low mayo its only 1/2 a syn for the whole lot !!! rather than 1.5 per LEVEL TBLSpN of the pre made stuff :o....then you could have your squirt of cheesey stuff if you wanted to .......or you could swap that for something like laughing cow extra light triangles which can be one of your healthy Extras or use as syns (far lower than primula)

And if you had eaten a bit of salad with your spud and a bit of fruit this morning.....even just a banana or a plum??

Is there a SW Group near you that you could join if you didnt want to commit to paying so much online? ;)

    Hi Ladies,

Dizzy, sorry to hear you can't have the hearing aids you were hoping for....after all you've been through I can imagine that little things like that are very disappointing.

I was going to say stuff to loads of you but I can't remember who said what now!!!

I've managed to eat proper meals although still less than usual. I made it a green day in the end, here's my updated plan:

Brekkie - 2 small eggs scrambled, tinned toms
Lunch - wholemeal pitta (HEB), cheese (HEA), lettuce, toms, cucumber, beetroot, pickle (1)
Tea - chicken (HEB), mash, onions, mushrooms, green beans, carrots, sweetcorn, gravy (3)
Other HEA is milk in tea but I won't use all of it.

I might have some fruit later if I fancy anything else, although perhaps I should syn a fibre plus bar to help thing, ahem, move before WI tomorrow night!!!

Evening everyone. I can never remember who posted what so please don't think me rude when I forget to mention anything.
Today has been a pretty good day. Stuck to plan at work and managed to increase my water intake, only by 1 extra cup but it's a start ;)

    Today's red menu has been:
7.30 am - Bacon and eggs with bbq sauce (1)
12.30 pm - Bolognese with cheese (HEA), yoghurt
9 pm - Meatloaf, roast potato (HEB), oil (1), salad
Snacks through day - 2 Alpen light (HEB), melon, strawberries, banana, yoghurt, crisps (6)

Other HEA is milk for my coffee and I still have 7 syns if I want them :D Might have a zesty lemon Activia for 2.5 or even a fibre plus at 5.5. Then again I could be extra good and have neither - ooooo decisions :rotfl:

I think I'm going too long between meals which is why I feel like snacking more than normal lately. I might try having more "meals" through the day instead of just 3. Then perhaps I'll get full up and not eat as much in total. Also if I use my syns on meals instead of snacks it will help. I love crisps but 6 syns would buy me a lot of extra food - I'll have to give this some serious thought.
    :xmastree:

Kitty - I would definitley say that between Lunch and dinner is a looong time, is there a reason you eat at 9pm (or was this a one off?)

I tend to have my main meals at (approximatley) 7am, 12pm, 5pm, so 5hrs between each meal. It helps that I am not working, but if I had to go 9hrs between lunch and dinner i would definitely have a big snack/small meal mid afternoon:)

    xx
