  • Seems to be some confusion over the Asda pittas - yes they would be the wholemeal & yes they are one for a HEB & ok for all plans BUT daisy posted something about some pittas in Asda are made by a different manufacturer & they're not ok?? Think some peeps are sticking to Co-op pittas to be on the safe side. Hopefully someone will clarify.

    EE meal plan for today:
    B - banana, strawbs, yoghurt
L - grilled bacon & tomato, fried egg & mushrooms (1 syn for oil) & baked beans followed by an apple
D - chilli (again :o) with superfree veggies added, grated cheddar (HEA) & baked spud followed by a clem & pear
    Syns - oil - 1, snack a jacks - 5.5, Galaxy Bubble bar - 8.5
    Snack - fibre plus (HEB)

Thanks all for the answers so far. What I meant by going away is going to stay with Mum for a week or weekend. She has no computer so couldnt look stuff up and I wont really have the time to plan while I am there (hence the idea of picking up a basket full of ready meals when I arrive. I have to travel by train for 3 - 4 hrs so cant take a box full with me.

    :)

yes you can use ready meals.....some are obviously higher in syns tho than what you could make yourself. (a fry up would be syn free and more filling ;)) or if she has a microwave just bung a jacket spud in and have it with beans and some salad for lunch.

Or buy some cold ham /chicken /beef/, cook some new potatoes & mix with some FF fromage frais mustard & sesoning and have them with salad....all syn free options (and can be stored in the fridge for more than one meal:p

Ok after tipping the scales this morning with the heaviest I have ever been :o:(  and worried about my health and knowing I need to do something now.

I am about to join SW online but am worried as my current daily mealplan isnt half as much as what the sample menu shows as I am not such a big eater. :)

An example of my current daily meals consists of :

B - Cholesterol lowering yoghurt type drink (Tesco own) sometimes with some fruit (eg banana, small fruit salad mix (ready made tesco grab n go kind)).

L - Sandwich or wrap or pitta bread (with meat n mayo / salad cream or cheese n salad or egg n mayo etc).

D - Usualy a light quick meal or cooked dinner. Occasionaly if busy day will have a readymeal. Once a month I join hubby with a takeaway pizza but usualy 'sort my own out' on a Saturday as I get fed up with shop pizza every week!!!!

Plus I lack motivation to exercise (which I am certain is my downfal along with the munchies crazy comfort eating).

But with the friendlieness and support from this thread so far I am going for it today with the start of a new week tomorrow and a new month to follow. Thanks for the inspiration I hope I dont let myself or everybody down ;)

Plus I lack motivation to exercise (which I am certain is my downfal along with the munchies crazy comfort eating).

I too have such poor motivation to exercise! But we had a good offer through work to join a gym (council one) so I joined. At the same time there was a thread on MSE about 'to join a gym or not'. On there people gave great advice which included:

    1. schedule in gym/exercise sessions to your week - if it's in your diary then you feel more like you are letting yourself down if you don't go.

    2. If you are meant to be going to gym/exercise but really really can't be arsed, then still go and if you only do 5mins then it's better than nowt.

I'm good with the scheduling so I'm averaging twice a week, would like to get 3 times a week from next month. And there have been times when I have been truely knackered and really not wanted to go, but have still gone and thought 'oh I'll do 5mins on everything not 10', but you know what I've done the ful workout everytime cos once I get going I get into it.

It's only an hour out of my day, including travel time so really I'm not missing out on anything. Plus if I'm at the gym I'm not eating anything, and drinking lots of water!! it's addictive too, when I'm going regularly then I love it and want to do more.

I am single though with no kids so my time is my own, I guess if you have partner/kids it's harder.

Find something you enjoy and it's a lot easier. I wish I enjoyed swimming as it's easy to do when you are bigger but I hate getting wet!! :rotfl:

    Good luck

The cholesterol lowering drinks can be quite high in syns, I used to use them as my cholesterol was high but I dont anymore!.......but the plus side of it is - with the SW plan being so healthy & with me losing weight my cholesterol is just back in normal range again (obviously its early days and Ive more weight to lose but the cholesterol has dropped really well:D )

There was a post a few pages back from consultant re the suggested meals on the SW site (I think it was to Poobear) its only a suggestion as to what you COULD eat if you felt hungry enough....it doesnt mean you have to eat all that amount in one go lol ;) and there is so much you can eat if you are hungry that you dont feel like you're 'dieting' so there's not really that need to comfort eat like there is with a lot of other diets IYKWIM. And you'l still be able to have the chinese with your hubby once a month....just plan for it :p

There is also a post from consultant & from me about exercise......I cant exercise at all Ive only just got off a Zimmer and onto crutches so my weight loss has been purely through sticking to the plan. It does work if you want it to .... you get out of it what you put into it :) x
