hisnhersslimmers wrote: »Hi all,
My wife & I started the SW diet 3 weeks ago, on the Extra Easy.
We used the SW diet several years ago using red & green days. We have not joined SW club yet.
We've both lost some weight, but for 2 weeks my wife as stayed the same. She is rigid on the plan except 2 things:
1) fluid in take.
2) not eating syns every day or using the full amount each week
My question is:
Are both these things affecting her weight loss?
We have a Extra Easy book, but not a syns book so its difficult to gauge what we eat.
I've not lost weight this week, but I know I've not stuck to the plan as much as she has.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received - joining a club is the obvious answer but we want to try the 'net first!
The Extra Easy plan is not the same as the Red & Green plans at all really. You must make sure you have at least one third of you meal as superfree foods (ie fruit and sf veg).
It's quite important to have as much water as possible (2½ litres a day is recommended).
You have only one HEA and one HEB each day (I'm sure you know that, but thought it worth a reminder) which must be weighed accurately.
Do have your syns, they are built into the plan and are there to make sure you can face a lifetime of eating like this - no-one could live with the thought that they must never have chocolate, wine etc ever again.
Look on the website www.slimming-world.com for a free 7 day menu which will perhaps help you plan your meals.
Feel free to come back for advice as often as you like
Sorry, it seems I'm answering questions which have already been adequately answered - it's what comes of answering before I've finished readingI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
What can I add to my meals/meal plans to bulk them out without costing the earth? I love fruit but it gets so expensive to top up every day!
How about eggs? I eat 2-3 a day some days (but I am veggie!) I have hard boiled eggs as snacks, fried egg for breakfast on weekends or for dinner with SW chips. Morrisons do 15 free range eggs for £2.50. They are normally in a special offer stand not with the eggs though!
Re fruit, have you got an Aldi or lidl nearby? I buy most of fruit/veg there and tend to only get what they have on offer each week.

It's not so much the HE a being used up, as I have skimmed milk, so there is still plenty left for cups of tea, but the HE b meaning that I would have to use Syns for a slice of bread or crispbread at lunch.
I always have porridge because a - I like it and b - nothing else fills me up for as long. I eat breakfast at work at about 9am as I can't spend time sitting around eating first thing or I would be late for work!
Maybe at the weekend I will be trying the eggs and bacon option - yummy!
you don't have to put it into the fridge - just leave it out with a plate over the top (if you have cats!) or pop it into the microwave overnight, it will be room temp at breakfast. I don't make it the night before, I just mix the oats (or whatever cereal I fancy) into the yog and fruit just before I eat it. Depends on your preference really. Or you could make your porridge with water rather than milk, then toss in some fruit and stir a little yoghurt in to moisten it - that way it would be hot and you'd still have your HEA to play with:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Ooooooooh the possibilities are endless!! :rotfl: I really shouldn't go shopping when I'm hungry!!

The only ones with syns are the ones with a fruity layer in the bottom and the ones with cakey bits in (don't know if they still do those actually, they were lemon meringue or something).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
