Good afternoon all -just a quick one from me...

Went to the gym again today and enjoyed it again too ... hubby not so much:eek: so as he tweaked his knee on one machine (he has dodgy knees after so long in the forces) and then smacked himself in the mouth with a handle on the weight machine -so ended up with a fat lip ... I on the other hand escaped in tact :D
We also went shopping AGAIN -I swear I should have shares or at the very least our own parking space :p

Anyhow -the Red meal plan for today is:-
    • 2 nectarines
    • 227g jacket (B)
    • prawns
    • big ole salad
    • 3 peaches
    • 1 activia lemon (2.5)
    • bolognaise moussaka thingy (A)-has lots of onions, carrots, peppers, mushrooms+passata in ;)
    • salad
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 1tsp camp (0.5)
    • 1 fibre plus (B)
Now that uses my A+Bs and only 3 syns -so I might stick another yogurt in this evening nomnomnom ....
Hubby wanted lasagne -now Im too tight fisted to "pay" 7syns for 2 sheets of lasagne :p (although looking at my syns for today I could have spared them ) -so anyway -I have topped mine with aubergine instead -tis smelling lovely :D and means I have more syns left over "just in case"
right I had better get off and catch up with everyone..have a lovely evening everyone...

  • Hi all,
My wife & I started the SW diet 3 weeks ago, on the Extra Easy.
We used the SW diet several years ago using red & green days. We have not joined SW club yet.

We've both lost some weight, but for 2 weeks my wife as stayed the same. She is rigid on the plan except 2 things:
    1) fluid in take.
    2) not eating syns every day or using the full amount each week

    My question is:
Are both these things affecting her weight loss?

We have a Extra Easy book, but not a syns book so its difficult to gauge what we eat.

I've not lost weight this week, but I know I've not stuck to the plan as much as she has.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received - joining a club is the obvious answer but we want to try the 'net first!

Does anyone just follow the red plan anymore?

I am really struggiling at the moment (I put on 1.5 lb last week at WI).
I seem to have been in a foul mood all week, definately going through the change (49) (not seen * this month - first time ever) other than pregnancy

Didn't go to class this week, ? weight gain again. Wish I could keep off my bl**dy home scales.

I am cooking a huge pot of 5% ext lean mince with peppers, onions and cabbage for tea.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated x

Hi there HisnHers. I think most folk on here would say that your wife does need to do the two things you have identified - up her fluids and use some syns!

You'd really be better to go along to one class and at least you'd pick up all the latest books etc. Otherwise you can ask here or check out minimins for syn values.

    Good luck!

    Afternoon all

I had a bit of a wobble at lunchtime cos my homemade salad was a bit crap cos it was 2 days old (I didn't have time to eat it y/day). I decided to bin the cuc and toms as they were mushy so the rest didn't really fill me. A colleague wanted to pop to shops for lunch so we went to Morrisons and I went to the salad bar. I got all free stuff apart from a teeny spoon of coleslaw, so quite pleased actually.

Green day: (will update in full later)

B - honey nut shredded wheat (HEB) and skimmed milk (HEA)
L - salad, coleslaw (?3 syns), HB egg, lentil loaf
D - stir fry veg, tofu, noodles, black bean sauce (2.5syns)
Snacks - activa ff yogurt, cheese (HEA), Kellogs Fibre + (HEB), strawberries, jelly (0.5syns), LF creme fraiche (1.5syns)
Drinks - coffee, water, NAS squash

    Total syns = 7.5

Dinner was lovely. I adapted this Delia recipe:
    http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/roasted-vegetable-couscous-salad-with-harissa-style-dressing.html

I left out the olive oil, tomatoes and olives. I did the vegetables on the George Foreman grill, which was a lot of faffing about. I think next time I would use a teaspoon of olive oil and do them in the oven, so much easier. Instead of the goats cheese I used half a block of feta (50g serving) as my HEA plus 8g! For the (very spicy) dressing I left out the olive oil and tomato puree, just stirred the other ingredients into some quark. Really delicious.

Sorry, it just shows my ignorance! I have never looked at EE, just assumed it was the same as Green/Red.

  • Hello to everybody and all the new peeps!

I've had a good day I think- I went to the gym for another fat busting session which left me feeling starving when I got home! I went for the fruit though, instead of anything snacky. I've changed my breakfast this morning, and trying to up my water intake.

    EE day for me

B - 2 ryvita fruit crunch (HEB) and tea (using milk for my HEA throughout the day)
    Snack - 2 plums
L - Lentil soup (leftovers from yesterday -V. yummy!)
D - Levi Roots reggae reggae chicken! (The jar of sauce is 21 syns, so I'm counting 5 syns per portion) having this with rice, peppers, sweetcorn and a WW naan bread (5.5)

Think I'll finish dinner off with some watermelon - shopping day is Saturday so I'm trying to make the most of what's left!
