  • morning all, happy holidays Trixie! Today is the first day of following a SW menu. (bits in brackets aren't on the menu!) Breakfast: 2 large mugs fresh coffee with skimmed milk, giant bowl of strawberries, raspberries, melon and grapes (topped with a dollop of plain yog and a synned teaspoon of honey. Also left out the apples, will eat as snacks in the day). Then 2 ryvita with quark (and a smear of marmite :) ) Lunch: home made bolognaise (used fresh toms rather than tinned as I have a surfeit) also cauliflower and broccoli, 2 tbs of parmesan (synned), and some pasta bows as it's faffy doing spaghetti in the microwave. Evening: whatever it says on the menu, I forget; plus I have brought apples to eat in the day and probably should have brought more fruit but breakfast seemed like two breakfasts so I didn't! Still, we can buy melon pots and fruit salad at work. There will be at least 3 more "real" coffees through the day and I always have a bottle of water on the desk.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Cheese is one of the best methods of getting vital calcium into your body and that is why it's a healthy extra.

Ooh thanks for that consultant, I don't need to be told twice that eating cheese is good for me! :D

    * week played havoc with my WI this week. 2lb on yesterday has just vanished today! so no loss but still no gain which is nice!

EDIT: Argh, all my rolls are mouldy already! only opened the packet on monday! Grrr, that changes everything!!!

    [STRIKE]Having a Green day today:
2 eggs scrambled with 1 wholewheat roll (heb1) and 2 tsp flora (2.0)
    2 plums
    3 ryvita with 3 extra light laughing cow (heb2 + 1/2 hea1) and little tomatoes [/STRIKE]

    EE now:
Shredded wheat and skim milk (1/2 heb and 1/2 hea)

2 egg omelette with vegetables and cheese (1/2 hea)
pasta with tuna, veg and extra light mayo (1.5 for 3 tbsp)
going out for drinks but am going to try to avoid alcohol so will stick to diet coke with a lime wedge (trick my mind into thinking i'm drinking alcohol!)

i missed WI on tuesday but i feel i am really struggling already, yesterday was a particularly bad day. my eldest son has ADHD and presents some very challenging behaviour and at the end of a bad day like that i like to munch. luckily i refrained as best i could, i did eat some maltesers, chocolate cornflake things, hi fi bar and 2 packs of walkers french fries. but incomparison to what i used to eat thats pretty good lol.

i dont think EE is working for me either. when i originally done SW about 8 yrs ago i lost 2 stone in 2 months and i lived on just green days and my meals were all very samey, jacket potats, packet rice etc but i did rteally well.
this time i dont seem to be doing so well :( think i will stick to just the green days. the other thing about my previous weight loss is i just stuck with the food optimising book, if i couldnt find the syn value in it then i didnt eat it. i didnt look up in a book at group and it wasnt online then. there was only a few things i ate that werent in the book buts thats because i learnt the syn value at group. i didnt look up certain brands of butter etc i just went for either the full fat or low fat syn values etc, which wasnt always accurate but worked for me.

    well today i have had
breakfast...weetabix (heb) banana, semi (hea) and honey (2) plus a coffee with milk from HEA and sugar (2)

not sure what the rest of the day holds.

Lolly, I think you have done BRILLIANTLY to keep the eating down after a difficult day:T. Focus on the positive! I teach some kids with ADHD and it must be really difficult dealing with that at home.

    Plan for me today is:
    Green day
HEA X1 = 250 ml semi skinned milk for tea etc
Breakfast: Tortilla – potatoes, onions, eggs (the potatoes had some yucky bits on them, cut them off but put me off a bit, kept imagining I could taste it..)

Lunch: Wholemeal pitta (HEB), quark, tomatoes and basil
Dinner: Roast vegetables (pepper, aubergine, squash, red onion, done on the GF grill), cous cous + 42g of cubed feta mixed in (HEA ) + and greek yoghurt mixed with chipotle paste, lime juice.
Large red cabbage, carrot salad, with balsamic dressing

Total syns: 5 cubes of Dairy Milk (7.5 syns)

Yesterday was not as good as I had hoped. Friends offered me a biscuit (I turned it down), but then had nuts, ice cream and meringue with toffee sauce. All small portions, but not as good as I had hoped! Never mind, onwards and downwards!

WARNING: I made the mint and chocolate ice creams from the latest magazine yesterday. The mint is absolutely RANK. It tastes of chemicals: far too much colouring, far too much flavouring, plus the sweetener. I followed the recipe exactly, apart from using slightly more fromage frais which should have diluted the chemicals. My kids tasted it and spat it out, when I tasted it I could see why.
The chocolate one is better, but still not great. What a waste of money.
I think in future I will be freezing Muller Lights or other very low fat yoghurt. I may get some low fat custard (synned) and mix that with Muller, see what that is like.

thanks consultant , i am going to try and sort out my portion control a bit it is all my own doing i just don't know how else to deal with things my life throws at me !!!

    hello
a good way i found to control portion sizes was to serve all meals on a side plate not a dinner plate, tricks your mind :) i used to dish just over a 'normal' me sized pirtion onto 1 plate me and OH each had a side plate and helped ourselves from teh serving plate (if that makes sense) my OH lost a stone just by doing that!!
