sorry to go on but can i just clarify the cookie crumble syn situation - 1 square is 1 syn no matter what size bar you buy ?

    its so lush !!!

Nope, I think that's just for the big bar where the squares are smaller. The small bar is about 2 syns per square, 12.5 syns for a 45g bar that has 6 pieces :(

A good day for me today. All the food today was delicious, felt I hardly needed my planned five squares of Dairy Milk - but hey, ate them anyway.

    Plan for tomorrow:
    Green day
HEA X1 = 250 ml semi skinned milk for tea etc
Breakfast: Crunchy bran (HEB x1), vanilla yoghurt, strawberries
Lunch: Leftover syn free veg curry and rice
Dinner: Stuffed mushrooms (stuffed with quark, garlic, green peppercorns, parsley, topped with 28g parmesan (HEA ),
potato wedges (1 tbspn olive oil =HE B)
masses of french beans from the garden

Large red cabbage, carrot salad, with fat free french dressing
    Snacks: grapes, vanilla yoghurt
    Treats: 5 cubes Galaxy

Syns: Galaxy: 5 cubes at 1.5 syns = 7.5 syns
    Total syns: 7.5
I need to do my first weigh in tomorrow. I haven't "seen" happybunny86, hope she is still up for it!

  • hi can anyone please clarify the situation with chocolate weetabix being a HEB + 2 syns ?
i'm sure i read it on here but there is no info on the SW website to back it up

i need a quick choc fix but want to still eat a 5.5 syn french fancy as well :o:D
  • Hi All

Blimey you all talk lots - think I will like this - spent best part of three evenings reading thread for hints, tips and recipies lol before posting!

I joined last Weds so nearly been doing SW for a week - think it is going ok?!?

Couple of questions if someone doesn't mind answering - I am fine with HEA as like milky tea so now worked out I can manage 3 cups a day with allowance - which is a lot less than before but good as know I need to drink more water - plus my bad habit was every cuppa I had loads of biscuit - but since last Weds I have had no biscuits as also a choco-holic so like to save my syns for 2 x funsize choc in evening with last cuppa but..to get to point...struggling with HEB as unless white don't have bread (again not had any since weds and feel loads better) I don't do cheese really...and breakfast when it comes to cereal I am a kid i.e. love rice krispies !! So I have to syn this don't I??? Or is it a HEB with added Syns?!?

Secondly my concern is I am on a lot of medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis - which I think is main reason for weight gained over last two years since diagnosed - so wondering if despite changing my diet will the weight still not go all time on meds?? My theory is a better diet may help my arthritis so should I not worry to much about losing weight - and see it as healthy eating. I am 28, 5ft 4in (at a push) and weigh 10st 8lbs my target is 9st as I know when I went thru my divorce 3 years ago I went to 8st something and I looked ill - medication includes steroids, and drugs called sulfsaline(sp?), diclofenic(sp) methotrexate and an infusion every 8 weeks. But at same time the steroids have caused a fat round face and I weigh about the same as I did when pregnant - I know I have not got loads to lose but at same time I am now a size 12 - before pregnant always an 8 and until I started on all these meds I was a 10 - I just want to get it under control before I go up any more dress sizes as getting expensive replacing clothes!!!

Exercise is also limited because of RA in joints but I have started again a little to try and build up my strength.

    Sorry to have rambled on!!!!

Popping back in because I've gained a few pounds this summer. 6 to be precise!

I had two minor accidents which meant I was not able to exercise much at all for around 6 weeks and it's really made a difference.

I did SW a couple of years ago and lost 2 stones, then I found I couldn't lose any more and I just maintained that weight for the next year or so.

Unsure yet whether I will go back to group (but a different one to last time) or just try on here.

The ExtraEasy plan literally came out as I left SW, so I have the booklet etc but never started doing it, and am wondering whether to just go straight into that.

Hi Liz, hope your weigh buddy turns up, but if not post your weight here anyway as loads of us do. Someone will congratulate /commiserate. C'mon - do it now!

Also welcome to newbs and returners. Mummyof5 and Lizziebums I think Consultant or one of the more knowledgeable peeps will need to answer your questions, but I would just say that getting into healthy eating will improve your general health and even if your drugs slow your weight loss at the moment, Lizzie you will feel loads better I'm sure and it will come off eventually.

Penny I don't go to class, just do it here. Think we're a mixed bag on this forum!

Hey, Redmel (or anyone else who can help) - how do you cut posts like you've done above (3725) so that you just reply to the appropriate bit instead of the whole post, please?

    Hi,

Just thought I would share this easy peasy breakfast sausage which is free on red and you can have about three on green as HEB!

For each patty (shaped like a thin burger) sausage.

2 oz minced pork (100g = HEB on green)
    1/2 tsp sage
    1/4 tsp brown sugar
    salt and pepper

Blend all the ingredients together, then shape into three thin patties. (I doubled the amount of ingredients)
Cook 3 mins each side or I use my George Foreman for approx 3-4 mins.

You could also use these for another meal, dressing up with onions, herbs or whatever you like and shape like a conventional sausage for a syn free meal.

Well I've had a pretty good day today - EE for once for me!
    B; bacon, egg & beans
    L; WW soup (2.5syns I think - chicken noodle) & two satsumas
D; leftover beef lasgane from the other night (approx 3.5syns for the cheese sauce I used) & meringue, grapes & banana muller (3 syns)
SS Milk has been used in 3 cups of tea - no HB used as I didn't have any HEb soups to hand so used the syn one instead.
Just hope I can resist the small dairy milk bars hubby bought me in Costco!
    C xx

Hi, hope you don't mind me saying but....don't forget you need a third superfree on EE. Your brekkie has no superfree and unless your lasagne was stuffed full of veggies then you don't have much with your dinner either. I didn't know you could get banana muller, I wonder if its as nice as the full fat one in the crunch corner range.....think I can guess the answer to that lol!

I'm on count down to pay day (tomorrow :D) so had to make the last £5 of the shopping budget stretch to get some fruit last night. Melons are £1 in Mr M at the minute (honeydew ones). Went to all that trouble then forgot to bring some to work!!!

    Here's my plan:

Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B) and banana
Lunch - tuna pasta salad (0.5 for salad cream in dressing). jelly (0.5), yogurt, mixed berries
Tea - SW chicken tikka, rice, salad
    snacks - nectarine, plums, melon
