    Morning everyone

Feeling rather down this morning, WI earlier and 3.5lbs on :(

I was expecting a bit of a gain this week as doc put me on steroids last week, only a 7 day course but did feel much hungrier. Didn't do too bad over the weekend, had one flexi day but could have been a lot worse, didn't seem to be 3.5 lbs worth of bad eating anyway. Also not 'been' for 3 days, possibly another side effect of tablets which have thankfully finished now. I'm so disappointed with myself, feels like I have gone 1 step forward and now 3 steps back. Doc also advised me not to do any exercise for a while (have had a problem with asthma hence steroids) so can't even try and lessen the damage by going on exercise bike.

Anyway sorry for the rant people, just hope next week will be better.

    Food for today will be-
    b- muller and 2 plums
l - Chicken salad with lett, cuc, cel, toms, radish, spring onion. Watermelon and satsuma
t - Got 2 big homegrown courgettes that need using before they turn into marrows so something with them other veg and left over chicken.

S - 1 tsp sugar (1) FIbre Plus (Heb) Need extra syns and a hea but will figure something out.

I know how you feel re the 2 steps forward 3 steps back Naindra I feel like that too especially over the past few weeks. Try not to worry too much about the gain (easier said than done I know), I am sure it is a fluke and will come off easily too.

It's hard when you are being good or have meds and not losing. But carry on, you are not alone, we are with you. Just think how wonderfully you have done over the past few weeks. I wish I had done as well as you. xx

What are these fibre plus bars people talk about pls?

Skint, they are they new Kelloggs Fibre Plus bars advertised on TV - they are really chocolatey and count as HE. Bit pricey tho' but sometimes on special offer as they are new. They are usually beside all the other Alpen bars etc.

Does anyone know of any syn free yoghurts that don't contain gelatine? I really try and avoid it and i noticed last night that muller lights have it in:(

    .

The activia fat free, and the big pots of fat free onken strawberry, or vanilla dont contain gelatine (just scrutinised the fridge:D)

When I had my week of 'not going' with my probs from the meds I ended up with a 3lb gain.....and I was gutted as it was out of my control :( so I know how you feel, Im only just now shifting it,despite being an angel so I feel im 3 weeks behind my holiday plan .

As for the lack of excercise...I also feel that slows me down too....apart from my physio (which isnt exactly cardio lol, more like can you stand up and close your eyes without holding on....can you walk heel to toe, bend and staighten then turn your head right to left without throwing up on the nurse, turn 180 degrees and not fall in a heap without crutches and focus enough and move quick enough to catch a big ball when we throw it at you :o:rotfl:) apart from that I cant do anything :( even the swimming I used to do and love as it was the one thing that made me feel pretty normal and unrestricted before this last op-I havent yet been able to try as the bath water moving at the moment makes me seasick :o

All we can do is our best Niandra.....wait for the meds to work - stay on plan and KICK A*S on the weight loss front :D

    good morning all

im debating what to have for breakfast might have to have weetabix, honey and banana.

my guts still feel awful this morning, note to self...do not eat so much junk again!! even if it seems like a good idea at the time.

i have completly cut out bread, this i am finding quite hard as i love my bread, however when i did SW about 7 or so years ago i think my good weight loss was because i cut out bread. im hoping it will be the same this time, i cant wait for school to start as its a good 15 minute walk each way, missing the exercise lol i should use my exercise bike really that i bought at xmas and the kids have used more than me, but i always find my bum hurts the next day so puts me off (its just cos im lazy really)

im going to be making some soup today....lots of veg, with extra brocolli so i can add my HEA of cheese to it yummy!

Thankyou for the kind words Trixietoes and Dizzy xx

It makes it easier knowing that I am not the only one having problems with meds and toilet movements, hope things start to improve for you Dizzy and the meds start to work soon, reading your posts makes me feel like I am winging about nothing :o. You always have such a great attitude to everything
Given myself a good talking to this morning as I know the worst thing I can do is wallow in it and feel sorry for myself then end up thinking 'sod it' and make the situation even worse. Just about to find something nice to do with the overgrown courgettes, not sure if courgette works in soup but I suppose there's only one way to find out! Might try the speed soup I saw posted earlier with added courgettes, lets hope it helps with the 'bunged up' situation too.

Thnks again for your help and support :)

IIRC they are 5 or 6 syns per 28g though could be wrong - don't like dried fruit myself!

    Edit - I lied = 7syns per 28g.

Worked out a fab way to allow myself the banana chips - measured out 14g (3.5 syns) into little pots. then took a few out of one pot and broke them up a bit and sprinkled them on my shredded wheat :D and had some left for munching on!

I'm not surprised they are high syn as they are so sweet, but they are just what i need when i'm craving something crunchy (a long time problem of mine - pasta, soup, muller, etc all too soft like baby food! need crunch!!)
    yumyum yum!!! :D

  • Hi everyone

With regards to yogurts @gunsandbanjos I buy yeo valley organic fat free natural yoghurt (as this is the only way to get organic and gelatine free "free" yogurts) and add mixed fruits from the freezer and canderel. The blackberries are ripening now so I picked some the other day and popped them straight into my freezer (found them even though I live in a big city).

Also, my consultant said that we need 1/3 of meal to be superfree foods, but this can be achieved by eating fruit as a dessert. So thats really useful when having a meal like sin free chips, quorn sausages and beans! Just eat a load of fruit after!!
