Thanks dizzy & niandra for the bhaji info :D

niandra, can I ask what other SW-friendly bits & pieces you did for your nicpic please??

dizzy, I'm definitely no Delia in the kitchen either, lol, but my roulade turned out great - I'm really proud of myself!! :D I was a bit worried when it came out of the oven looking like a giant yorkshire pud though :rotfl: does everybody's look like that?? :o Also, sorry if you've already mentioned this previously, but what do you use as the 'cream' filling?? I used half a tub of quark as per the recipe, and added 1tbsp of fat-free fromage frais & 2 heaped tsp of splenda. Is that too much splenda?? I've eaten about a 1/6th already & it does taste good!! :D

For my nicpic we took roasted veg cous cous, I just chop peppers, mrooms, courgette toms and onion and put in roasting dish with frylight S&P and crused garlic and shove in oven til roasted, i make cous cous up using a stock cube and finish with fresh herbs and lemon juice and mix it all together. Also took cooked chicken legs that had been marinated in spices and a big salad. We had a bag of crisps each, monster munch which are quite low syn and a tub of fruit with strawbs cherries and rasberries. All of it transported in tubs and my nephew came with us so needed to feed a hungry 10 year old, you should have seen his face when I opened the fruit tub, you would have thought it was a big bag of sweets!!

I'm going to have a go at the roulade thing at weekend everyone whp has made it has raved about it, sounds yummy, going to look back through posts for the recipe :)

    Morning!

OH made tea last night and it was brill, he made smoked haddock soup with celeriac, potato and leek in it. Used Hea for the milk and 2 syns for the butter he used. (2 tsp in all of it but served 4) Wasn't much SF food in there so I had some fruit after to be on the safe side. Kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it but he enjoyed cooking (and I enjoyed watching telly on the couch!!) and said he wants to try cooking something else next week :D

    Food today will be -

b- muller, 3 little plums and satsuma
l - prawn salad with lett, cuc, cel, toms, sp onion, beetroot and radish. Watermelon, strawbs, rasberries and cherries
t - Chilli con carne with HM x xlean mince, rice or pot wedges and fake 'sour cream and chives' made using free stuff - experiment!
s - 1 sugar (1) Fibre Bar (Heb) Cheese on chilli (hea) Im sure I read on here that taco shells are only 2 syns each so will check it out online to make sure i didnt imagine it, might have some of them too

Ps I also have been weeing for england since doing this! I alway drink plenty of water but it mush be all the SF foods that I have been eating too

  • Bleurrrgh they sound awful! What's wrong with a regular fishcake recipe which would be fish, herbs, and mashed potato! This supports my theory that some SW recipes are a hell of a lot of faff to get something that doesn't taste as good as the same thing done in a straightforward way :rotfl: I hope you enjoyed them in the end

I think they wanted to get more veg in there. They tasted ncie just didn't stick together!

Im not in leeds - tho I seem to spend a lot of my time at LGI there & pinderfields :o . Im further out between bradford & keighley. The apartments are nice....the management of them are cr*p!

Was any of the info on the Gluten HEB stuff I found any use for you? ;)

Yes I was about to reply but dipped my finger in the deep fat fryer and ended up at A and E. I'd looked online as a lady at work said she'd log me in as her and I couldn't see anything. It was REALLY helpful though. I don't eat the glutafin brand but hopefully its similar across all brands :)

OK happybunny, Tuesdays it is. Next Tuesday will be my first. I was weighed by the doctor over here when I went to get antibiotics for a throat infection (the reality of my weight horrified me) but as that was not on my home scales I can't do a comparison.
My SIL has coeliacs (spelling?!). It is tough, and I know what you mean about gluten free bread etc, it seems rather insubstantial. It looks like some of the others have found good advice for you.
You have achieved so much: the weight loss and running a marathon!
SW worked best for me when I planned ahead so that I had masses of yummy food and treats planned. It goes wrong when I am aimless and start to snack and pick. I have about twenty dishes that I rotate for our evening meals, with variations, and I think I can make most of them syn-free or low syn.
Congrats to all the "losers" - I teach teenagers and can't help hearing the word "losers" in a certain tone of voice!
    Liz

The marathon was before the weight went on, so seems like a distant memory now! I know what you mean about other people's scales. I used a friends on a bathroom visit recently and it said 5 pounds more than my last weigh in so I was very worried. I definately agree with consultants just weigh once a week on the same scales.

I've not done a meal plan this week so I don't expect a loss and ts my birthday so staying the same would be great. Going to do a meal plan for next week and stick to it. Need to make sure I get the HEBs in there! It's a pain in the bum being coeliac (you spelt it right :j) but I feel far better than when I was eating wheat. It's just eating out that can be tricky sometimes and lunches at work.

2.5lbs off this week. I'm a little disappointed with that but it's in the healthy levels of loss so I suppose a small loss is better than no loss! I know where I went wrong, I didn't write anything down and didn't do any diaries, so that's been my problem this week.

My first month has led me to a grand loss of 1st 4lbs - quite happy with that :)
Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Hi Niandra, I'm just preparing a HM chilli for a friend coming tonight, we are going to try to do a SW version of "chilli toastie & chips" that we used to love at the local pub. I'm going to try a sour cream & chive now you've given me the idea, thanks! :DAnd the SW chips may be changed to tiny new potatoes boiled then sprayed then roasted, mmmmmmmmm. (friend is bringing her toastie maker and some wholemeal bread, I'm providing the rest :D, will also make a big baby leaf salad and a tomato & mozarella salad I think).
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Ooh chilli toastie sounds scrummy, unfortunately I threw our machine out a few months ago as it was never used, plus I just cant resist loads of cheese whan i make toasties. There will be loads of S\Free in the chilli itself but your salad accompaniments sound good, might have to hunt some low fat moz. I am making the sour cream thing with 0% total greek yog, crushed garlic clove salt and chives. I used the yog to make tzatsiki before and it was really nice, had a similar tang to sour cream so fingers crossed it will work with chilli
