Ha ha, finally found this recipe!! :j Would really like to give these a try but a couple of questions for Niandra or anyone else who might know.

When it says use a food processor to blend, can I just use a stick blender instead as I don't have a FP??

Also, can they be eaten cold?? I was thinking I could pre-cook & take them on a picnic.

    Thank you :D

Off to make the 1/2 syn roulade now, hope it's not too fiddly as I have major PMT clumsiness-itis :o
I only have a stick blender too - so for any recipes that say put in blender i use that :o seems to work for me!

Im no delia when it comes to cakes....the roulade is really easy ;)

*cant see why you cant eat the bahjis cold....my OH picks at them all evening if i do the sw ones
  • 2lb on for me this week, totally understandable though, not been on here for a good few days and haven't exactly been sticking to plan. There is not week that I have totally stuck to the plan so I'm really really going to give it my best shot this week. I really want to get to under 12st. Think my problem is that I've never set myself any goals. So that is my first one, only a small one to start with :o

Off to read the thread for meal inspiration and to read about all your losses :D:D

    Hello everyone.

Not been my usual attentive self to the threads the past few days so reading everything to catch up is giving me eye ache :D.

Hello newbies :hello: and excellent news about all the losses. :j:j

I am going to struggle today as I forgot the whole buildings water supply has been turned off from 10am to 8pm today :eek: and I didn't fill up on any to cook with etc.... didn't realise til I went to fill the kettle about 11am and nowt came out the tap. We have a 6l bottle of water for drinks at least.

    Today (EE as always)
    B - 2 toast (B) beans (F) butter (1.5)
L - left over chilli from last night.
Mid aft - Nana & couple of spoons of yog (F)
D - Veggie soup (that I thankfully made yesterday) (F)
Even - Bowl of fruit and yog (F)

I need to have some syns so will have ryvitas and cheese as I need an A too. I need more super frees too.. maybe 2 bowls of soup then.

I tried the pair of the trousers I bought the other week, the ones that were too small... and they fit :T:T A bit snug around the waist but not too much so by the time holidays arrive in 8 days (no not counting down at all) they will be perfect.... so from 18 to 14 since doing SW (big 14's though).

Have a good day eveyone, I'm off to design a kitchen on the Ikea website xxx

please can someone use the syn calculator for me? I got some prawn crackers on offer in Mr T (successfully avoided the chocolate biccie aisle though!!)

    Whole bag is 75g
    nutritional info is per 100g
    508 kcal
    1.3 protein
    68.2 carbs
    25.6 fat
    1.7 fibre
    0.7 sodium

in theory there are 3 25g servings per pack

    thanks :)

Hello, can I join in too please?

I am new to SW and went to my first meeting last night. Today is my first day attempting to understand what I can and can't have. I've done a huge shop consisting of mainly fruit and veg and have been syn free for..... 8 hours:j.

Breakfast: apricots, slice of ham and black coffee
Lunch: wholemeal pasta and grated cheddar with pepper, mullerlight
Snack: diet coke, more apricots (they are half price at the mo)
Tea: Plan to make a vegetable chilli with rice.

My query though is olives. Are they fruit/veg, free/superfree or something else? I've tried looking in the book but couldn't see them. Any help would be great as I can't give up my olives.

    Thanks
    Alfie (Mrs:))

    Hello everyone :)

Just popping by to post food diary then will read back on posts I have missed

    b - Muller
l - Chicken salad with lett, cel, cuc, toms, sp onion, sweetcorn, beetroot. 3 plums satsuma and watermelon
    t - Smoked haddock soup
S - 1 sugar (1) FIbre Plus (HEb) SF jelly strawbs and tangerine (0.5)

Hea will be milk in evening meal and probably syns as the recipe has 2 tsp butter in it, will syn later depending on how much i eat, shouldn't be much though.

My OH is making tea tonight  This is the first time he has cooked for me in a year, since he made roasted veg and mackerel and cooked the mackerel for 30 mins and decided to use cucumber to roast in the veg!!
Bless him for trying but I had a little stress at him last week as I do all of the cooking and getting a bit fed up with it, it obviously worked hehe!! He is following a recipe so should be fine this time, just dreading the state of the kitchen when he has finished!

    Hello alfieroux!

    Welcome :)

Olives have to be synned but are quite low, you can have 8 green or black olives in brine for 1 syn. If there are particular ones you wanted just give us a shout and i'm sure someone will look them up for you.

6.5 syns on all plans for 25g portion or 19 for the whole bag. I did consider putting prawns in as the free food but thought that would be pushing it a bit :rotfl:

I use a food processor, i did once try to make falafels with a stick blender before I got the fp but burnt out the motor!! It would be worth a try though, maybe your stick blender is better than mine was, you could even try a potato masher I used that for the falafels when the stick blender broke :rotfl:

Sure they would be nice cold, i made a SW friendly nicpic a few weeks ago and was surprised how much I enjoyed it.
