Does anyone have any tips for eating out. It's my birthday soon and i want to behave but i don't really want to go and have a salad either!

What about Chinese? I had a look at the SW site and the syns dont seem too bad if you have an extra easy day as the boiled rice or plain noodles are free.

    Some options (on EE) are:
Beef with Mushrooms - 4.5 syns
Chicken in Oyster Sauce - 4.5
Beef in Blackbeans sauce - 5
Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables - 6.5
    Chicken Chow Mein - 7
Chicken and Cashew Nuts - 8.5

Might even have some sys left over for a wee drink or birthday cake! :)

  • Hey, I made the roulade base tonight ready to roll tomorrow before class. Could you tell me what the texture is meant to be like? Is it supposed to be crunchy like a meringue because whilst mine was cooked and lightly browned it is definitely still very soft.
    Cheers!

    Hello all,
I have been reading the thread for a few days. You all seem a great bunch, so I would like to join in please! I lost two stone using SW about 7 years ago, after I had my daughter, so I know it works. I put on quite a lot of weight after the birth of my son, went back to SW classes last year but didn't stick with it. I am very busy (I teach and have two young kids) and couldn't always get to class, which I am afraid I used as an excuse to let things slip.
I would like to do my own weigh in each week and contribute/get support here. Is there anyone else doing their own weigh in who would like to team up? I can weigh in any day, so can celebrate or commiserate as needed!
I am staying with family in the US at the moment but will be back in England on Friday, so have been plotting and planning. I have a list of meal ideas and a shopping list ready to go. I feel really positive about this.
I read somewhere this week that there is 20 weeks left of 2010 (haven't checked this!). 40 lbs is about what I need to lose, so I could just about do it by the beginning of 2011 at the rate of 2lbs a week (that was my average last time).
Looking forward to getting to know you all,
    Liz

I actually feel quite content now, I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed eating something so !!!! and it feel satisfying. Thanks DizzyK[/B you have given me willpower!

:T:T Well done you!!! Im soooo pleased you got 'that feeling' from saving up your little pre planned treats.:D.... I have the same feeling every evening now - and I enjoy much smaller amounts of choccy and feel satisfied in the same way that a big family bar used to :rotfl:

The only time I battle with my willpower is a couple of days round PMT time  but .....so far...ive not given in to the fairies :o

As for your Birthday, I dont really get out much with the wobblies and stuff- but on my Birthday we went for a carvery so pretty much everything was free just synned the yorkie & splosh of gravy.

    Morning all
got up with DH this morning, even though I'm on hols, to try and get some of my course work done before the kids get up:D.
When I've got an assignment due in is usually one of my downfalls as eating is a pleasant distraction and I'm sure that this is part of the reason for some of my weight gain over the past year.
Hopefully going out for a few hours today with my boys and the dog so no doubt there will be exercise involved even if it is only walking,as long as the rain stays off for a bit.
Will sort out todays menu and post it later.

All those of you going out for meals/parties etc.

If im going out I dont stick totally to the diet as Im not letting it rule my life. I personally think if you have a little splurge now & again it doesnt matter. If i tried to stick to it 100% I dont think the diet would last long. A little flexability is what is needed.

After ive had a little splurge ( sme times a big one ;) ) I tend to stick to the diet a lot better.
