Haha! I'm not sure I fancy cardboard - except if it was coated in chocolate maybe!
LMAO anything coated in chocolate would be good at the moment!

I got some to try and seemed to be chewing forever trying to get rid of them :o they seemed to 'grow' lol. Theyre not crunchy like I expected....not like a ryvita is.

Yep you do. OJ has syns so if you use it in a recipe then you have to count those syns. Unless of course the overall syn value is so small per serving as to be neglible.

to save on those syns you can just grate some orange peel (making sure the zest flies through the air and lands in the soup too!). I don't think you have to syn orange peel and it will have a much more tangy orangey taste than with OJ.

  • Scan bran: I agree with ^^^ up there, tastes like cardboard but by golly you lose about 5 lb in pooh the next day :) I layer quark or thick yoghurt with various salady things, lots of flavours, all piled on top like an open sandwich, and make sure you have a BIG glass of water to swill it down with.

Lentils, yum yum, why not make a dhal, Greenpixey? Just google for recipes and remember if it mentions oil you only use your frylight or spray oil, right? Otherwise just do as they say, make it as spicy or unspicy as you want. If you cook it until it is quite dry, I believe you can let it cool (or use next day) and form into pattie shapes and dry fry or grill and they'd be like ... those little Middle Eastern snacks whose name escapes me at the moment! To get the real Indian restaurant taste I'd recommend getting yourself some fenugreek seeds and, if possible, dried fenugreek to sprinkle in, it just adds that je ne sais quois!

Consultant thank you, I know there's reasons behind it all and I am really good and even gave away my smoothie maker (!) and it does work if one doesn't break the rules, etc, etc.! :)

As long as scan bran helps you lose weight, I guess it's worth the taste. I guess..... can't I just eat Ryvita?

Well, I still can't get my head or stomach round having breakfast. I know Dizzy will hate me for it but I just can't manage it. I'm sure being sick isn't a good way to start the day! I'm sure I'll sort it some day but right now I'm having problems.

So breakfast today was nothing. Lunch was a banana and a bit of quiche (bad Screamer) and tea is roast chicken dinner. Got loads of veggies as is normal but I'm so bored with fruit I'm seriously thinking of jacking the whole thing in. In 3 weeks I haven't lost a bean which I assume is because I'm not eating enough but I honestly cannot eat more than I am now. I'm trying really hard but a lot of the stuff I munch on just comes straight back up again.

I'm exercising loads too, and drinking loads of water. Last summer I was really active and was only a size 6-8 (didn't look well but had tons of energy) so have been trying to go for a lot of walks and am doing 15km a day on the exercise bike. Haven't had takeaway this weekend, only drink I've had is diet coke but now I'm up against a new challenge...stopping smoking. I have got to do it because of having my teeth out next month. So, if the diet goes awry, now you all know why!

Sorry for the moan ladies, just my confidence is quite low. I didn't think SW would involve eating so much food. If I'd have known beforehand I don't think I'd have signed up. :-(

Sorry you're feeling disheartened by it at the moment Screamer - but I dont think you've given it enough time before you throw the towel in just yet ;)
The 1st week you were all over the place and just getting used to what you could and couldnt have.
The 2nd week you got engaged - and drank 4 bottles champagne 24 cans lager, bottle vodka between 4 of you, pizza, curry, had a crazy old weekend....yet still managed to MAINTAIN :T
This week you were going to give green days a go as you said veggies/superfrees were a prob, I dont know how its gone but I know you were visiting at the weekend, so it always throws plans in the air a bit.

Did you look through the books I gave you and copy any recipes yet...?

I just think its too early Screamer to say its not gonna work ;) you can do it hun....if you want it bad enough you can do it! think about your wedding dress:) Nora from group does green.days...shes not a big eater - shes been at target for 2 years now remember ;)

Chin up..... come on now x

OMG I just made SW wedges, so yummy! :) and so much easier to make than SW chips!! I can see them becoming a staple food!

Re lentils, I posted a recipe for a lentil pie last week on this thread if you want to search for it. Or you can make soup? I like lentil and carrot, but it's more a winter soup than summer.

evening everyone! i think i will stop goin to class and just weigh myself every tuesday from now on.

i have a trip to vegas in just over 12 weeks time & could do with saving the extra fiver i spend for class each week.

if im not at the weight i want once vegas is over i may try classes again - i just dont like the way our leader does the class - also this taster evening 2moro nite - a lot of the ppl in my class look so unclean that i would defo not eat something they have prepared!

i hope thats not mean, but some of them have very low levels of personal hygiene goin on, so i would hate to imagine what their kitchen looks like! i mean there are a few women who may be from the same family, who always have very greasey hair, and dirty hands & finger nails! boke!!

such a decision to make but think im making the right decision! i carry a notebook constantly so im goin to start taken recipes down when i spot them on here!

thanks for everyones help, advice, opinions & of course recipes!
