Just wondering if anyone would have a clue about this?
If you used Total 2% (1.5 syns per 150g) to make your own yogurt using skimmed milk and then straining, do you think it would remain at that syn value?
I honestly cannot see why not but just wondered if anyone really knew.
I made it the other day and it was absolutely delicious, but then I have always wondered how something so wonderful could be low syn!! (Total 2% I mean).
I would say the whole batch of yoghurt you make yourself has a total of about 0.5 syns, as you only use about a tablespoon of starter yoghurt if I remember rightly, and then the rest is your skimmed milk which is free.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I make my own yogurt using fat free yogurt (0 syns) and skimmed milk and I call it free. I eat an easiyo flask of it per week and still lose weight so I think it should be ok! I guess if you're using synned yogurt to make it then it's best to count some syns for it.
Out of interest, do you eat you HM yogurt as natiral flavour or do you add things to flavour it?0 -
Extra Easy for me today - I realised I hadn't eaten any meat for a over a week - which isn't a problem as I uused to be vegi for 13 years so I'm sure it wouldn't kill me.
Breakfast - Weetabix (HEB, Banana, Milk (HEA) and tea
Snack - Apple, banana, plums
Lunch - Couscous - 1/2 pt with tomatoes and sweetcon - I'm sick of the sight of lettuce ;-)
Tea - Bacon, 2 poached eggs, dry fried mushrooms and SW chips. Yum yum yum - did cook some beans too but really was too full to eat them so left them on my plate
Pudding - Fresh Fruit Salad and FF fromage frais
Saving the remainder of my syns for a proper hot cho made with milk before I go to bed.
WI for me tomorrow morning - wish me luck - if it's less than 2 pounds I'll probably cry as I've been a proper good girl this week. Off out for lunch for someone birthday tomorrow at Zizzis so will stick to as healthy as I can and then just couscous, salad and fruit for tea, followed by the gym.0 -
Im doing EE plan.
Would anyone tell me if I made mushy pea curry & had it with boiled rice, this would count as 1/3 superfree foods?
Thanks0 -
TakeItEazy wrote: »I thought fat free vinegarette was free, suppose it depends on the make. Ermm not to be picky or anything but if its .5 syn you forgot to add it to total syns
Not all the FF vinagrettes are free as it depends how much sugar they add to it. At least it low syn at 0.5 for 2 tbsp. That's plenty enough for one salad.0 -
Day 2 of my fish week today. Had a bit of a strange day today as visited my fiance's relatives today and I knew there would be a lot of bad food on offer so I ended up having my lunch for breakfast, eating a tiny bit of what his auntie had prepared so didn't look rude and then had dinner quite late. Anyways:
Breakfast- banana. Couscous, lettuce, sweetcorn, peppers and mackerel salad
Lunch- Lettuce, cucumber spring onion. 2 spoonfulls of egg fried rice, one spoonful of beef in black bean sauce. (Syning this as 5 syns as had very very little.Just enough to push around the plate and make it look like I was eating it.)
Dinner- Tuna pasta bake. (Tuna, pasta, carrot, broccolli, sweetcorn, tomatoes) 42g reduced fat cheese. (HEA)
Snack- Hifi bar (HEB) 16 x mikado choc sticks (8syns)
Total: 13syns
So my fish products today were mackerel and tuna0 -

L - chicken, lettuce,tomato,cue,s/onion,b/egg,pasta,new pots, beans, couscous fritta, beetroot,celery, exlite s/cream [[1]
