Uh-oh, Had a terrible start to the weekend (SW wise that is).
We were away from home yesterday so had cheese toasties for BF (nothing else in) but did have plumms and apple sas well. Then Lunch in a restaurant was a lovely salad with red curry chicken, had some dressing on it but not too much and the chicken had been cooked with oil. Bad, bad thing was that one of our group had a fondue and needed a bit of help! No idea the syn values there but given that it's basically melted cheese it cannot have been good).

Then, travelling on the way home we stopped at McDonalds (3 kids) and I had a cheeseburger.

So trying now to redeem myself, just had cereal and milk and nectarine for BF.
Lunch - don't know yet, probably omlette, and tonight is a BBQ so plenty of meat and roasted vegetables there.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Just wondering if anyone would have a clue about this?

If you used Total 2% (1.5 syns per 150g) to make your own yogurt using skimmed milk and then straining, do you think it would remain at that syn value?

I honestly cannot see why not but just wondered if anyone really knew.

I made it the other day and it was absolutely delicious, but then I have always wondered how something so wonderful could be low syn!! (Total 2% I mean). :)

Today I started my fishy week!:

    Saturday Food diary
Breakfast: Hifi bar (HEB) , Activia Fat free
Lunch: Prawn Salad- prawns, cucumber, lettuce, cucumber, radishes, celery 2tbsp fat free vinagrette (0.5syns). Activia fat free
    Snack: satsuma
    2 x 1/2pts lager= 10.5 syns (met a friend after work for a drink) :o
Dinner: Tuna Pasta bake. Tuna, pasta, tomatoes, brocolli, carrots, sweetcorn. 3 x babybel light (HEA)
    Total syns for day: 10.5

Tomorrow I could have: smoked salmon with cream cheese on ryvitas, tuna mayo with salad (3syns for mayo/salad cream mix), something with tinned mackerel.... maybe scrambled eggs. Or, in fact, all of the above! :p

I thought fat free vinegarette was free, suppose it depends on the make. Ermm not to be picky or anything but if its .5 syn you forgot to add it to total syns :o

    Good morning all :D

3.5lb off for me this morning :j.....

So now I'm starting my "fish week" AND trying to increase the syns I use every day , so lets see how it goes!!!
-so my meal plan looks like this:-
    • 28g porridge oats (B)+1 ryvita**
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • mixed berries
    • banana
    • prawn + mango salad **
    • sweet chilli, spring onion + lemon quark (0.5)
    • melon
    • salmon burgers (B)
    • lemon chilli dip (leftover from lunch)
    • carrots
    • cauliflower
    • broccoli
    • sf jelly and berries (1)
    • 100g vanilla quark (1)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 1tsp camp coffee (0.5)
    • 1 kelloggs fibre plus bar (5.5)
So then that is my A+Bs used and 8.5syns accounted for -but I need to pick up a few more along the way ....ooooh I might stick some peas and sweetcorn on dinner wink.gif(Im ususally too tight fisted to use my syns on them-even though I have plentyredface.gif)..
Hope everyone is having a good weekend...
keep at it everyone -we are getting there :T

Yes thanks. I have some of that but it is a bit expensive. I might have a go at straining it and see how it turns out. :)

The other flavours can be horribly syn high!
