I think fat free yoghurt, greek yoghurt and fromage frais are all free but some of the low fat varieties are not. I always go for the fat free versions of those foods anyway
Brians daughter as far as I know SW is the only Slimming Club that you are allowed to continue with whilst pregnant as it encourages food optimising rather than dieting. The plan is easy to follow and I have read stories of people who have followed the plan whilst pregnant and they have weighed less after having their baby than they did before getting pregnant.
I am hoping this is the case as I have just found out I am expecting and although it is early days I am intending on following the SW plan during my pregnancy. One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -

Hi Betty
I haven'y been on here for weeks now I can't stop typing.
Generally anything with VLF( very low fat ) or 0% or fat free as far a yogurts or fromage frais are concerned are free.
Quark is the only soft cheese thats free.
extra light philadelphia ,dairylea& laughing cow cheeses are low in syns but need to be counted( or use as healthy extras)
you will get used to it eventually I always used to get mixed up between fromage frais & creme fraiche.
I use the ww creme fraiche in my carbonara as it's creamier than quark & well worth the 1 1/2 syns .I use that in place of sour cream.
Also total 0% yogurt makes a lovely tzatsiki. mix in grated or finely chopped cucumber, garlic, mint & lemon juice. it's lovely i like it on my new pots.
hope this helps a bit.
You will get used to it,it becomes automatic after a while
good luck
Jook thanks. I am a bit confused about those kinds of food and what is and isn't free
I know quark is free
What i dont know about is low fat cream cheese, low far fromage frais, low fat greek yog(total 0%) half fat creme fraiche, natural yoghurt etc.
There are so many varieties of this kind of thing - dairy/cream/chees pots
I also get confused by what to use and when - do i use low fat yog for dips, pasta sauces, curry sauces, and in place of tzatsiki/sour cream... or do I need quark for that (which none of my local shops sell)???
Can anyone help me with this? I'm getting so confused and doing things wrong I think.:(0 -
Thats good about the WW creme frachie,
I will make a creamy mushroom sauce to go over pasta , or that carbonara one sounds nice
Do you have a recipe for that ??The original janiebaby0 -

I make 'fake' carbonara with creme fraiche (might be synned but still better than cream!)
It's fake cos I dont like the idea of the eggs in it - so I slowly cook mushrooms, bacon bits, garlic and onion in a pan while the pasta cooks, add pepper and some herbs (a bit of fresh parsley goes best) and then mix the cooked pasta and a couple of tbsp creme fraiche into the pan with the bacon and mushrooms. Yum! nice with a bit of parmesan in for a kick too.
I wil have to find WW creme fraiche then or else find some non fat fromage frais, which hopefully will work just as well. Quark would work too.Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

My sil has had her booking in app this morning with teh midwife. She is overweight, she wasnt before, but an influx of kids 4,3 and 11 months have seen her put on, and never shift about 4stone. She is down enough already about her weight but the midwife has told her she should consider slimming worlds programme for pregnant women. TBH she was shocked as she (as did i) always thought dieting whist preg was not encouraged ( i know when i had my last 18 months ago it was not advised - regardless of size)
Anyway, could any of you wonderful ppl give us some info on the slimming world preg plan... she is on the way to mine now for a brew and i said we would find a local class etc (she was keen to start loosing the weight prior to finding out they were expecting)
Does the plan actually mena you loose weight whilst pregnant, or is it about maintaining weight whilst preg? I did sw a few years ago, so have some basic knowledge - although i understand its changed somewhat.
How does it differ from the normal plan?
As long as she has her midwives consent can she join sw whilst preg or does she need to have been attending prior to her getting preg?
Thanks so much!
Anna x
Thanks everyone!
Slimming World's plan is called Food Optimising and it's a healthy eating plan NOT a diet so it's perfectly fine to follow it whilst pregnant and whilst breastfeeding.
There are no special rules while your sil is pregnant, but once the baby is born, if she breastfeeds, she will be allowed extra Healthy Extras to make sure that she is getting enough nutrients (particularly calcium) to look after her own needs and those of the baby.
My DD lost 2 stone whilst pregnant with my gorgeous grandson and both she and he were fit and healthy after the birth.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Snack - Weetabix oaty bar (HEB)

So 4 and a half syns but I felt rubbish and so treated myself to a wispa (11.5 syns) - Still within 20 syns over the last 2 days so fingers crossed the scales won't hold that against me on Monday morning.
