    Hello everyone,

Syns/snacks - Watermelon, Fibre Plus (HEb) 1.5 sugars (1.5) Again need to find something else to up the syns but have been struggling lately (never thought I would say that!!) Maybe a nice glass of vino, just need to stop myself at one

Or buy one and if you don't like the texture, whizz it up with some banana and orange juice and have a smoothie instead.

Sorry to be a pain in the bum but smoothies aren't free i'm afraid, you need to syn the fruit as you have altered the state. I had a shock when I looked up the syns in innocent smoothies, i had been drinking them all the time pre SW thinking they are healthy :o

  • I love the taste of mango but find they have a strangely greasy texture ... I usually cheat and buy them frozen (and peeled and chopped) from Asda.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Oops. Is this the same for veg? I always liquidise veg and add it to sauces and I've never synned it before!

  • no, for some reason we are allowed to make soup but not smoothies so liquidised veg would be ok.PS re the weighing clothes issue (it's not really an issue is it?) DON'T WEAR A PADDED BRA to weigh in, unless you always wear one. It's very demoralising to find you've put on half a pound. Truly. Weigh your padded bra and see. you live and learn (another wicked smiley)

Don't like smoothies or milk shakes so am safe there. The fruit bar things a good idea but only sainsburys do that here [I think] certainly my local shops don't [i.e tesco, asda, waitrose]. Sainsburys is miles away though :(. Will pop in when next passing and give it a try. thankyou.gif
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I've a water bra, I'd put on half a stone if I wore that! My mums friend had 6 pounds to lose and wanted to join so she put a weight in her pocket on the first week!

I don't think so as hm soups and the like are totally free. I think fruit is synned if you puree it because you can eat loads more than if you had it in its natural state, if you ate a mango, a banana, apple and grapes for example all in one go it would be much more filling than blending it and drinking it in a minute, also you take away a lot of the fibre by pureeing plus fruit generally is higher in calories than veg. I'm not very good at this, maybe someone else could explain better??!!
    Heres an example
Innocent Drinks Strawberry & Banana Smoothie 250ml bottle

As far as i know you are fine to puree veg just not fruit, same goes for cooking with fruit or tinned fruit, they have to be synned but are rather low.

Lol! It's seriously hard work and the more experienced you are, the harder work it is...my lesson will be as tiring as if I'd spent the 45mins running!!! I'll be trotting and cantering most of the time and when you're also trying to get the horse to work properly rather than plodding around it take some serious effort!!

WOW...to a non-horse type person that just sounds mad. It's cool you've found something you enjoy which burns calories the way it does. Exercise but not exercise if you know what I mean - like the way I think of the wii perhaps. It doesn't feel like I'm "exercising" when I'm doing the hoopla hool and stuff like that but it still works you
