  • Hello

It's my first week on slimming world, started on monday and I've just over 2 stone to loose, I'm doing it online as I work shifts so it's not that easy to get to meetings. I wondered if anyone could take a quick look at my week so far and check I'm doing it right, I seem to be eating loads!

I've stuck to EE so far to make sure I get the hang of it before trying any other options.

    Monday
    No breakfast
Lunch - cheese and tomato sandwich (HEA and HEB) (3 syns as my bread weighed over HEB and 2 syns low fat spread)
    Shape 0% yoghurt (1 syn??)
    nectarine
    4 x cups of tea (2 syns)
Dinner - Mushroom risotto (5 syns for using sherry in it)

    Tuesday
    Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Tuna and tomato sandwich (HEB) (3 syns for extra bread weight)
    Shape 0% yoghurt (1 syn?)
    nectarine
    2 x cups of tea (1 syn)
Dinner - Spaghetti Carbonara (1/2 parmesan cheese HEA, 1/2 5.5 syns, 1/2 teaspoon olive oil (1 syn)
    4 or 5 plums

    Wednesday
Breakfast - Banana in fat free natural yoghurt
Lunch - Pasta with peppers, onion, corriander, mixed beans, tuna, chilli, and fat free dressing
    Shape 0% yoghurt(1 syn?)
    nectarine
    pear
    3 x cups of tea
Dinner - chicken kebabs (chicken marinaded in chilli, garlic, turmeric, buttermilk 2.5 syns on skewers with peppers and onion)
Couscous - with onion, corriander, rocket
    8 or 9 plums
Almost forgot to have my HEA and HEB so
Supper - slice of bread (HEB with cheese (HEA) and tomato

    Thursday
    Breakfast - 1/2 melon
Snacks - 2 x alpen light bars (HEB)
Lunch - coucous with onion, rocket, corriander and dried raisins (2 syns) with chicken (no skin)
    nectarine
    pear
Dinner - Beef and mushroom stroganoff (lean beef with mushrooms in small amount of dry cider (2 syns) butter (7 syns, I cooked it last week pre-diet!) and low fat creme fraiche (5 syns)
    1/2 melon
    250ml semi skimmed milk (HEA)

So that's it so far, please please please tell me if I'm getting this all wrong as I'll be gutted if I haven't lost any weight on Monday.

Thank you very much for your help in advance
One day I will be debt free and fat free!:grinheart

Evening! Just a quick post from me to tell you that OH's mum came up trumps for tea tonight! We had chicken casserole, mash and veg, I've counted 2 syns for oil in the casserole and 2 for butter in the mash. I then managed to convince her that I was extra full as I was tired from riding and I couldn't eat any fruit pie....which I hate anyway! I then came home and treat myself to my first ever fibre plus bar.....it was delish!

I'm also VERY pleased with myself for my riding lesson! I did jumps which terrifies me! I did a proper big jump to....I usually stick to piddly little ones and refuse to do them if the instructor puts them up!! I must be getting brave in my old age lol!

excuse me dropping by - I just wanted to say Hi - I did Slimming World years ago when it was red and green - and up to 15 syns a day - now theres extra easy - whats that all about then - hmm - will have to try and find out more about that - I have made aubergine and pasta bake tonight - got it from the slimming world site - recipe is on my homepage (6th July)and omg its yummy - really easy to do - I substituted spinach for the basil as we didnt have any basil in tonight - its yummy - the whole family eat it and apart from a couple of moans from my boy who isnt overly keen on aubergines it went down well - only gave him a couple of small bits and lots of pasta - its really filling too - bought the magazine the other week and made the aubergine and feta stacks - they were nice - I do eat other things than aubergine - lol

Would love to hear of more recipes? Whats your favourites?

I have been trying lots of new recipes as I am on holiday and so am planning a whole weeks worth ofm eals asnd shopping for it. The most delicious so far had to be the tuscan chicken. I'm going to try and remember it off the top of my head: Chop 1 onion, crush 2 cloves of garlic, about 200g button mushrooms and half a pint of stock (think I used bovril chicken: loaded teaspoon full then half pint of boiling water. Cook all the above in a big saucepan for 10 minutes on high with the lid on then 20 on simmer with lid off till all stock absorbed / cooked off and everything nice and tender, throw in 250ml red wine, tin of chopped toms, some fresh rosemary, 8 skinned chicken thighs and season and cook for another 30 minutes (recipe said 20 but was giving this to my little one too so wanted to be safe). I served this with polenta (ready made as couldn't find the make your own stuff; just seasoned this with a little pepper and sprayed with fry light and did couple of minutes each side in the griddle pan and then with some green beans on the side. You so wouldn't think that this was slimming food. I'm thinking of doing it for a dinner party next time!

    Evening all

    Well done to the losers.

I've had a manic day at work so have barely eaten at all today which is very unusual for me! :rotfl: But am starving now I'm home so had a bowl of my HM SF celery soup to tide me over. Need to make some more soup as it's a great syn free filler meal ;). I was very good today as we had a presentation with coffee and biscuits and not one single biscuit passed my mouth :D.

    Green day:

B - honey nut shredded wheat (HEB) with skimmed milk (HEA - rest for coffee throughout day)
L - HB egg, celery stick and 2 radishes!
D - leftover stirfry veg, egg noodles, black bean sauce (2.5syns)
Snacks - HM SF celery soup, one alpen light (1/2 HEB), cheese (HEA), tesco corn crisps (3.5syns)
Drinks - coffee, water, NAS squash

    Total syns - 6

So I've still got a 1/2HEB to use up, plus syns.

Are taco shells 2 syns each? Hope so! I miss eating soft tortillas when doing SW cos they are 6syns each so tacos would be a good replacement :)

    x

Please could you post your soup recipe flutterby? sounds good! :) thx

Also, is there a certain brand of taco shell that is 2 syns or just all of them? i have only ever seen the 'old el paso' ones in shops.

Well done dizzyk! so pleased for you :)

Ended up meeting a friend for wine tonight - 2 small glasses of red and some pitta and hummus with lots of olives. feel a bit oily and greasy now. have been having a lot of days where i do well sw-wise for the first bit of the day but then it all goes t*ts up by 4pm when i get a bit crazy and end up eating toast or an extra bowl of cereal. really struggling to find a solution to this 4pm munchies problem!

Can't believe I'm posting my food diary at quarter past midnight  don't know where the times gone today.

Today I have mostly been eating:

B [at nearly lunch time, not hungry earlier] weetabix milk [a] coffee. This had a knock on effect.

L/T - 2 egg omelette, 2 onions, 2 big cherry toms, sliced quorn sausage, 1/2 fat cheese [a], SW chips [1 potato], beans, oil spray [2], brown sauce [2]

    Snacks - pineapple + muller

    Syns - 4

Forgot my 2nd HB bit late now :o

Used to eat ALL the time now don't feel the need so not expecting great things come WI, hopefully maintain though.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
