i've been reading - it certainly was a fairy filled saturday. :( today is a new day! it was a reminder of what life was like pre-SW, every friday, saturday and maybe a week night.

i've never cooked with butternut squash before - i've read that you don't have to peel them when roasted. do you peel yours, does it make a difference?

thanks for the ideas lynz, i'll be spending a busy day in the kitchen i think!!

Yes. I cut them as I would a pineapple.

You need a good peeler or a sharp little blade knife

Slice lengthwise with a big knife

Then youll see in the middle lots of pith and seeds, scrape these out, then peel off the hard peel.

I have seen that you can bake them with the skins on and stuff them (* where the seeds come out) but I haven't tried this yet!

The fairies moved in here last night too. Those pesky fairies sure know how to cause trouble. We bought 4 bottles of champagne and managed to drink all that (between 4 of us) then got the midnight munchies so ordered an indian. Oooo, it was lovely. I really didn't let anything stop me from having fun last night though and just went all out. Today is a new day and gratefully, the curry had lots of chillis so whatever I ate came straight back out this morning. (TMI?)

Breakfast today was a bacon sandwich
Lunch, I really don't know yet.
Dinner, also have no idea. Probably the JP that I didn't have yesterday but the dog has had the chicken so will be tuna sweetcorn instead.

And thank you all of you for liking my ring, and for your congratulations. I'm still a very happy Screamer, albeit a fat one lol.

Glad you had a good night Screamer ;)

Take the dog for a bigggg long walk today chores016.gif it will clear the hangover and get rid of some of the fairy damage :j
  • screamer - dont worry too much about the indian.... i had one a hot curry couple of weeks back (one that.. ahem.. came back out again the next morning..) and i didn't gain! Besides you were celebrating which in my book means whatever you eat/drink is free... :D:D:D lol Congrats hun!!!! :D:D
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Hmmm the memories of HM SW Pizza...lol. I used Cathedral City lighter on mine and it seemed to melt lovely - ok i didnt get the scrummy stringy thing you get with mozzarella but it was still nice!!

... why can't i be able to eat a bit of bread goddammit!!!!

Your pizza did look very scrummy on the pic drool.gif

Im the same with bread..... I used to eat loads of it pre SW- warburtons thick white sliced fab stuff :T and fresh stuff from the bakers, but I was ALWAYS so bloated and felt awful. I really try now not to touch it (I still love it but if I get the taste I wont be able to stop:o & I know it doesnt agree with me)

Thank you! I was very proud!

Before SW i used to eat tons of the stuff (the thick stuff and bakers bread tongue0018.gif nom nom nom) and it never affected me. (unless it did and i didn't realise) but now even the smallest amount really affects me... i started to feel crap about and hour after i ate it. I feel like i've been kicked in the stomach this morning sad0014.gif

Afternoon all and thanks for the lovely congratulations :p

Vixie-Pixie.... I bet I started out weighing much more than you ;) which is why it has shifted quickly for me :D ... Im thrilled, but right from the outset I have talked myself into being happy with any loss .."off is off" afterall -Initially I set myself the goal of losing 4st by xmas -I know that its better for me to set small goals and achieve them than set big ones and get downhearted if I don't! So now I have hit the 4st -anything else between now and xmas is a bonus :j..
Im another who has given bread up completely and I don't miss it -and I certainly don't miss the bloating and blinding headaches ...

Mumoftwo -Im with Vixie -on the cheese, we love the cathederal city lighter -its nice as it is and melted -I find a lot of lower fat cheddars nice in one state or the other but not both :(

Yoemma -I don't peel butternut before I roast it -if you want to -the skin just lifts off when its done -but if you are blitzing into soups etc, you can leave it on. I like to cut them in half lengthways -pull out the seeds and then place on a baking sheet -cut side down and bake and then eat like a jacket

Right Im off to finish my meal plan for the week -nearly done and the shopping list to go with it so I can pick the bits up on Tuesday...
Have a lovely afternoon all :D

I never noticed pre SW how bread affected me to be honest......but thinking back.....my stomach was always bloated up no matter what I did, but saying that I could quite easily live on sandwiches if I was feeling that way out lol. But after starting SW and not eating so much Bread, the times I did- I suffered for it with the bloats and discomfort.

You might have developed a wheat or yeast intolerence....have you googled it to see why you feel so cr*p after eating bread?....its a starting point, then maybe a trip to the docs to see about some tests ?

Funnily enough, most people I have asked seem to eat bread then it makes them feel awful.

People who have generally "given up" bread, notice the difference more.

I felt like I was carrying a cannonball around in my belly this morning post pizza. It was lovely but it made me feel awful.
