Hope you don't mind me sharing..... i'm usually a lurker!!
Had a lovely dessert today ....
Stewed some rhubard with sweetner - decided it tasted like slime so I put some into a disposable cup (about half full) I then topped up with diet lemonade (not quite to top as its fizzy it can expand when frozen) I gave a quick mix covered in cling film and popped in the freezer until frozen.
Absolutely delicious and if my calculations are correct syn free!!!0 -
...... thinking of trying with apple or mango puree next time.0

Hi stimpy and welcome. Your desert sounds delish but do be aware that stewed and pureed fruit has to be synned (although you get LOADS of stewed rhubarb for your syns)
xxI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Well I refrained from both mcdonalds AND starbucks tonight while shopping with a friend so surely that deserves a pound or two coming off this week (if god's reading this come on its only fair!)
As we didn't leave until 9pm i am now about to tuck into an M&S Count On Us 2 british port sausages mash and rich onion gravy 400g.........any ideas how many syns...i can post all the info if required...........many thanks
It is something bonkers like a big mac is 32 syns or something.
Pre-slimming world, I gave up all Mcdonalds/KFC/ BK a my new years resolution.
Its the only resolution i have ever stuck to, like EVER! I did nearly buckle for a mcflurry the other day and I still pop in to use the "facilities" but im so over eating there. No wonder i was lardy, the amount of syns in them
Next year, nail biting! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
oh, the nail biting - took me years to break that habit. Looking back I think it was nerves and anxiety that 'made' me do it. I used to love gnawing away on my nails, even to the point that they hurt. If your determined enough though you can do it (like everything really, requires a bit of willpower!).
Haven't planned today's food yet. Think I will have some fruit and yogurt this morning (not cherries though as I had terrible wind yesterday evening after scoffing so many). Probably pasta and tomato sauce for lunch and then some fish for dinner.
I have a question about HEBs. I like porrige and on the small list I have of HEB ready Brek is listed (beurk) but nothing else - it's the list you get off the internet so just half a page of cereals. The brand of Porrige I like is syned at 5 per 28 grams which is an ideal amount for breakfast. Is it possible to use it as a HEB? Can you really only chose form that tiny list of cereals?
I have some left over lamb from last night and want to make a kind of morrocan/couscous type salad dish - I'm thinking I would put in raisins, onions, roasted peppers, almonds maybe, but what are the spices that you would use? I love north african/ middle eastern food but can't cook it myself and I should learn.Trying to keep in budget.

Hi Gien
For moroccan I would always use mainly cumin heres a chicken tagine recipe, you can adapt. I never use saffron as Im too tight to buy it (!) but I have made it with chopped toms, cumin, cinnamon, pepper, and cumin and tumeric .The cumin is the distinctive flavour. I know mine isnt particularly authentic! But its pretty nice, I make mine with a leftover chicken for example so imsure leftover lamb would work well.

...but bearing in mind that it's synned because you can eat more, and more quickly, than raw - it's going to take a loooong time to eat that frozen thing!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

TakeItEazy wrote: »Ok am feeling slightly pathetic asking this but what is a 'maxi' dress?
I don't 'do' dresses after spending too many years with thighs that rubbed together. I have to be prised out of my jeans/ 3 quarters or shorts even when we go out. I did wear a long dress to a wedding last year but it was soooooooooo hot my thighs still rubbed so couldn't wait to get it off.
But I say go for it, wear whatever you feel comfortable in and if you look good in it don't worry what others think.
Evans sell something called comfort shorts - they come down the leg and eliminate the painful rubbing! I found them by accident and shocked everyone who knows me by wearing a long skirt instead of the inevitable trousers!
Anyway I took the plunge last night and joined my local SW group - my sis had done WW last year but had got bored and has switched to SW - so I thought I'd give it a try! I have a number of stones to lose...:o...but I have taken the first step!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

Hi all
Tried not to look at the scales today but ended up having a little peek - the last's weeks shenanigans has set me back but only a tiny bit. Learnt my lesson!
TakeItEazy when you make the couscous frittas do you make lots at once (batch cook from a sachet of couscous, say) of do you make them fresh everyime. Was thinking about making a load up then refrying them to reheat them every day since I dont have time to make them fresh everyday. Do you think that'll work if I make onen Ainsley Harriot sachet's worth? thanks.:)
Today I'm doing EE:
Brek: Strawberries and total 0%
3x Ryvita (Heb) and Light laughing cow (Hea)
Cup of tea with splash of skim (0.5)
lunch: leftover vege chilli (2.0 for the oil) with some rice - is natural yoghurt ok on chilli instead of sour cream????
fresh pineapple
an orange
Green tea
dinner pasta with bacon, mushroom, garlic, mixed herbs and creme fraiche - is very low fat creme fraiche free????
broccoli
mullerlight orange choc
2.5 syns in total, I am trying to stick to 5 as a maximum every day this week since I went overboard last week.:pBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A0
