do you work? do you have to pack a lunch for tomorrow? what are you taking? after all that hard work i am not letting you slip againxx
HE HE, thank you so much
I do work and I have been having pasta and sauce or savoury rice with veggie for most of my lunches.
Good non-food related things from today- I bought a second hand Kenwood Chef and I have just been watching Doctor Who on BT Vision, is it or is it not the best thing on TV? Love it!
So, I am going to a BBQ on Saturday and I really want to stick to my points so I think I shall make my own burgers and buy some syn free sausages. Then if I have one small roll and make some extras I should be laughing. May even allow myself a bottle of Crabbies Ginger Beer
But really, thanks for the encouragement everyone, it means a lot to meGod is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day

I have to admit I've been sticking mainly to red and green days, I'm old school and I kinda think if it aint broke I won't fixit! Red and green work for me, EE is something I'll give a whirl someday when I feel the need to try something new, I've heard mixed reviews some say it's amazing others say their weightloss isn't as good. I guess it's the old story of what suits one person doesn't suit another. One size definitely does not fit all.
I think everybody is fixated (at the beginning anyway) about actually losing weight - which of course is what we need to do. BUT, once the weight is lost we need to try to maintain but most people simply go back to their old ways which is why they're here again next year trying to lose the same stone (or two!)
Extra Easy is the nearest plan to 'normal' eating, so once you're into the way it works, it should (in theory) be easy to live with for ever - thus solving the problem of having to start again in a few months timeI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Can I join you fabulous people please? I have read all of the other thread and this one in the last couple of weeks and I am so inspired by all of you I joined a SW class tonight. I am an ex WW but recently quit because I kept losing the same stone over and over again. It just doesn't suit me anymore. I have 5+ stone to lose.
I love cooking. I went to class today with the thought I would just go and get the books and do it myself at home. I am not good at these classes (I did SW many many years ago and hated the classes) I had to stay tonight and the endless waffle and clapping did get on my nerves a bit, does the consultant not give a talk herself like they do at WW, does it all get done through the talking to the members?
I did not hate it and I have sort of changed my mind, I think I will go to class, at least for a while anyway, the members seem friendly.
As I have been reading through the threads here, I have made notes of a lot of your tips etc, so thank you so very much.
Tonight at class everyone was devastated that the consultant announced that Marshalls Macaroni cheese is not "free" anymore but 5.5 syns for the box.
And she showed us the new chocolate weetabix, she said they are a HEB plus 2syns or you can syn them as 4syns each, she said they are very sweet and would be nice to crumble over a yoghurt, sounds good to me.
Here is to my first week.
Hi and welcome to the thread (and to Slimming World)
The idea behind the Consultant allowing the group to 'run the show' so to speak, is to make members think for themselves how to overcome problems which arise in day to day living.
For instance, if you told me you were going out for the evening and I told you what to do, what to eat, how much to drink etc, it would probably go in one ear and out the other.
Generally speaking (particularly if the Consultant is very slim) we tend to think "it's ok for you, you don't know what it's like for me" but when another member ups and says "oh, when that happened to me, I did so and so and managed to still lose a pound that week" it makes much more of an impact.
Hopefully you will stay to group as often as possible as I'm sure it helps. I have a little card by my weigh-in table which says those who stay to group lose weight, those who don't lose interest, and I really believe it's true unless you've got loads of self-discipline.
Keep posting and enjoy your foodI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
