Quite a good day for me today, apart from a little slip up with a couple of crumpets this morning. Will post my actual diary this evening when I have finally stopped eating :D

Would anybody be able to tell me the syns in Asda bbq beef meatball kebabs please? per kebab is 106cals, 2.8sat fat. Not too sure if any other values are needed. Main ingredient is beef. Thanks :):)
  • I am feeling very disillusioned :(
I have been trying to stick to the plan and mostly have been, I had a bad week last week, ate a lot of pastry (flipping sausage rolls and pork pies, why are they so tasty?!!) and put on 1.5 and this week is * week so I haven't lost any and I don't want to go and not have lost anything. Someone give me a slap and tell me to grow up eh?

I know how you're feeling I'd been doing well on the plan and then last week stayed the same and this week put on 2lb and really don't know how! I must admit on Monday evening I felt so disappointed and got in that "what's the point" mood and ate chocolate and sweets oh and a cake lol

But yesterday I got up and felt focused again and have stuck to plan and if I can do it anyone can ;)

This site is great for support, keep posting......we'll get there!!

    Apple

    Lunch
Cold new potatoes, couscous and leftover SW quiches with tomato salad - all free

    Apple
    Banana

________________________This is where I am now

Hi, first day today, hope i have done it right, i did EE, breakfast was banana and apple, lunch was a ham roll ( no butter ), dinner was a wholemeal bagel with philedelphia (4 syns I think)and walkers baked crisps (5 syns), snack was 2 babybel 1 HEA, and some strawberries, i couldnt eat anymore but was hoping the wholemeal bagel would count as HEB. Do you think this is ok because i didnt follow the 1/3 plate rule, as lunch was a roll. Not sure how many syns to have but thought 10 as a previous poster had suggested 10. Any tips would be good and i shall try to meal plan properly for next week.
    night all

If your ham roll was a wholemeal one weighing 57gms, then it can be counted as your HEB for the day. You could have had it with salad as well though which would have helped the vegetable intake.

An average bagel is 11½ syns and sadly you can't count one as a HEB, even a wholemeal one :(

You should aim for around 10 syns but are allowed up to 15 if you need them.

Try and have a more filling breakfast, eg: bacon, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms (if you've time to cook). Try the couscous/fruit/Muller thing for quickness - both of these choices would leave you with HEs for later in the day.

Lunch would be better if you could have a big salad (boxed if you go out to work) with pasta, chicken etc etc.

Dinner - well anything goes really!
    * Roast potatoes (done in Frylight), as many veg as you can pack on a plate with meat of your choice.
    * Home made chilli - extra lean mined beef, tomatoes, grated carrot, onions etc served with rice or SW wedges/chips
    * Cottage pie - extra lean mince with lots of veggies added. I like a top of mashed sweet potato, carrot & swede but you can use ordinary mash if you prefer.
    * Egg, chips, mushy peas (nom, nom, nom :p)
    * Stir fry
    * Curry with rice or chips.

There are loads of SW recipes around if you have a Google. Our MSE ones are here, though I don't think many have been added lately:- http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=1948340&postcount=3

The website has an archive of recipes you can access even as a non-member:-

    OOOh lovely

Have changed the evening meal plan tonight, Im going to blow out as Ive not had any syns yet today and Im going to have a small Homemade pizza :o

With cous cous coleslaw and salad and sweet potao wedges to redeem self slightly :o Ive no idea how to work out the syn value but it will have loads of free veg on it and a bit of chicken and a tiny amount of reduced fat mozerella as I dont really like cheese

    Any ideas?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

at least here I can't get a proper sausage roll or pork pie :j -I can get some in the naafi -but they aren't the ones I like :T ..I won't tell you what delights I can get though mmmmmm :rotfl:

Sorry cheeseaddict -I can't see those on line and you need all the info to work them out :o
I have just copied this over from my diary on minimins in case its of use......

    (Righty ho

dinner(fish pie) was better than I hoped :doh:well I thought so -hubby isn't home yet....
it made 2 like the one below -which was supposed to be 1 each -but when I came to serve it half was plenty
    swfishpie.th.jpg
so here is half of 1 :p
    swdinner28july.th.jpg

thought I would share the recipe, such as it is :pthe fish etc are approx -things that we count are exact ;)

    fish pie:-
    • medium sole fillet -lightly steamed
    • piece smoked haddock -lightly steamed
    • 4 raw king prawns -
    • handfull of frozen seafood-approx:-
    • 1dz small prawns
    • 1dz mussels
    • 1dz cockels
    • handfull frozen mushrooms-defrosted and squeezed out
    • 56g frozen garden peas (2)defrosted
    • 56g frozen corn (3)defrosted
    • seasoning
    • sauce
    • 200ml semi -from allowance heA or(3) syns
    • 4tsp cornflour (4)-let down with a drop of the milk
    • heaped tsp English mustard
    • 84g low fat mature cheddar-grated (heA x2)
    • topping:-
    • 396g jacket potatoes(heBx2) -steamed in their skins and then peeled
    • approx 8oz swede -steamed
    • seasoning
    • 1egg
    1. break the fish up and remove any bones -drop into an oven proof dish
    2. Make sure the seafood is defrosted and squeezed out -scatter over the fish and season
    3. add the peas, corn, mushrooms
    Sauce:-
    1. warm the milk in a pan gently
    2. stir in the cornflour -stir constanly until thickened -don't try and rush it as it can go gloopy. You want it quite thick to allow for any juices leaking from the fish ;)
    3. stir in the mustar and half of the cheese
    4. spoon over the fish and vegetables
    topping:-
    1. rub the skins off the potatoes and mash with the swede
    2. season and beat in the egg
    3. spoon over the top, level and scatter over the other 1/2 of the cheese
I baked for about 25mins until golden and bubbling

now I do red days and it comes in at :-
    heA x 2
    heB x 2
and 9syns -so per person :- 1heA 1heB and 4.5syns -and I have used part of my other heA for the milk..but I still have half of all that to eat :D
I hope that ramble makes sense...obviously if you are on EE its even better value...
Give me a yell if something isn't clear and I will try and sort it out... and of course you can tweak the fish to suit your own preferences...
Hope its of use to someone :D
