Hi MsB!
Well, when I left for work today I asked him to stay calm and in control....when I got home from work, DD told me she'd eaten 'someting cold and mushy' or, weetabix to you and I :rotfl: and to be honest, I was totally shocked to the core - I told her there are lot's of tasty things she could try if she wanted to and she said 'o.k then mum, in a second'
Yesterday, she has a little nibble of an oatcake and she's also tried licking some cheese!
Someone metioned being negative round her - I've been watching out for it and have noticed that daddy is VERY negative when it comes to food! E.g - He told me today that she wouldn't eat lunch and then turned to her and said 'would you?' and she put her head down like she was a bit ashamed of it or something. I said 'och, it doesn't matter though does it' and smiled and tickled her chinand she cheered up and carried on nibling away at her dinner.
I've asked daddy to stop the comments and told him that things are going to take time and effort to 'fix' as it were so she needs as much encouragement as possible an I can't give that to her if I'm not there so he has to take my place.
All in all, another reasonable day and I'm still holding out hope that she'll eat some kind of vegetable soon! :cool:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Sounds like it's going well Angel!!
My DD ate a jacket potato mixed with cream cheese tonight, she didn't know the cheese was mixed through of course  but she had never eaten a jacket potato before either. I think she is finally realising other food tastes good! Hopefully your DD will be chomping down on allsorts soon enough0 -
Hi Buttons!
Glad to hear DD is doing well, I don't understand why anyone would turn their nose up at a baked tattie! :eek:The cream cheese mixed through sounds delish...best dairylea would be good...or primula with chives!!
My DD will need alot more 'training' but so far so good! :jStarted PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Saw your answer in the other thread but didn't want to go off topic.
Sorry to see it's changed after the good start.
Was there any event that triggered the change back?0 -

Sorry Mikey, only just seen this post...I didn't subscribe to my own thread :rotfl:
Dinner time was getting to be heaven, it was nice polite chit chat around the table and she would eat quite well but then all of a sudden she stopped. It was almost like something inside her told her not to eat anymore because she was mid-way through her dinner then threw a massive stop about 'not liking it' and she's getting worse, not betterStarted PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Not sure the same would apply to your DD but we recently had probs with DD, she has always been a fab eater, no fussiness will try anything, she just suddenly started to have tantrums about breakfast, I don't like it (whatever she chose) I hate milk etc etc, we tried to pander a little bit ie letting her choose what she had, letting her pour her own milk/ cereal etc etc, nothing worked as soon as it came to time to eat the tears would start. I realised it was an attention thing. We always sit and eat together and have a chat etc, so I just started saying "ok if you don't like it fine, get down from your chair, but away to the other room please, as I'm trying to eat my breakfast nicely" It stole all her thunder, at first she just wandered into the other room, then she realised it was boring on her own, and came back, I would chat normally to her, keeping it light hearted and upbeat, but at the first sign of any tears or moans, I would say "back in the other room if your going to moan as I'm trying to eat nicely, please."
Since I started this she has been fine. Maybe you could hold off on the trying new things, and focus on getting back to that happy, chit chatty meal, then once thats been managed get back on the trying new things.
Keep up your good work, you and she have done great!!0
