That's a bit unusual. Normally there is something you can associate with it that has acted as a trigger.
Maybe now it has come to a battle of wills, or maybe there is genuinely something that is causing her discomfort when eating.
If she hasn't complained of anything physical it's just perseverance, and not allowing yourself to get stressed by it.
Maybe a visit to the GP to be checked may help, but the downside of that would be if there is nothing it could cause another negative associated with eating.

Yet again, she's away to bed with an empty belly, all she's eaten today was a couple of tattie waffles at 12.

What I forgot to mention earleir was something quite positive...she'll drink milk!! Well, not actually drink it on it's own but warmed up... with chocolate powder in it :rotfl:

I really see that as a huge step forward for her as she didn't even so much as look at milk for well over a year.

You mentioned at the start that she likes ice cream - bananas sliced up and dipped in chocolate then frozen make a yummy treat which tastes a lot like ice cream - could be a treat to try? I like them sliced fairly thin, so they are a mouthful with the chocolate on them.
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

if this is regular occurence i would make dinner as normal - if she does not eat it with family put it in fridge and reheat when she decides she does want food.

I think I have run out of anything useful to add at this stage, but I'll be thinking of you and you have my support.
Hope you get back on track soon.

Thanks Mikey, I think that most people have run out of ideas!

I'll just have to keep trying and hope for the best

  • I am sorry I have not read all the replies but would suggest that you should give it 3 weeks of total space. Just feed her to get all the emotions calmed down and then try again. Good luck with this! They do test your patience but usually do grow out of stuff. Does the stubborness come from you?;)

The problem is now any suggestion could make it worse rather than better, without knowing why she changed her mind.
It could be taste, or texture, or colour, and could be physiological or physical.

You’ve done all the right things, and had a good improvement, so you’re obviously in charge, and know what you’re doing.
Just keep going and don’t let the setback get to you.
I suppose all things being equal, you can work out what food she will eat, and if it is one group, like all mushy, maybe there is a physical problem.
