Mazza I don't know if you already do this but how about getting him some lower cal, lower fat crisps such as squares, quavers, french fries (all around 100 cals and 0.5g sat fat but not obviously diet crisps) and then you could have the odd bag without feeling too bad.
Sorry Melvis I had only scanned your post.0 -

Welcome PrincessDaisy to our lovely thread. Sounds like you already know how to make a start, and if you stick to your plan, you could easily shift that first 7lbs.
The new month is almost here for us all to get back into the swing of things. I think I'm going to start September with a vow to not eat any cake, sweets, biscuits or crisps. I only have them now and again, but it's still tempting for me at TOTM (like now!), when I go scavenging for anything sweet. Even my OH has begged me to not bake anymore cakes for a while now. I have a birthday at the end of the month for a good friend, who I will bake one for, and then OH is early Oct, so achievable.
Mazza, I'm with you on the crips cravings. At least I managed to get my boys to agree to get the lower cal versions, and I'm not so keen on Wotsits. I do make sure I have some lower fat versions in the cupboard for myself, just in case I crave some. They do the trick, and I really like Sainsbury's sweet chilli ones. I know they're processed carp, but I crave savoury food more often than not, so they give me my 'fix'.... I also really like the crunch, that's most of the pleasure for me.
I was very virtuous last night, after the roast dinner OH did me a bowl of strawberries, raspberries & banana, with a dollop of low fat yogurt on top, and a light sprinkling of crunchy museli. It was scrummy, and we agreed we'd have paid good money for that in a restaurant. Nice and filling, but also light, so feeling less bloated today. I still struggle to have cereal again in the mornings, and feel I can only face a couple of rounds of toast. I will try to get back into my habit of having porridge again. Does anyone remember when Marion (retiredlady) used to post on here, she would talk about soaking rice overnight for her breakfast? Anyone know how she did it? My sister said she had something very similar in Tunisia this summer, and loved it. She's now on Slimming World, and I thought it would fit in with her new diet, which I know Marion did too. Some of the older members here might recall.
Right, motherly duties call... off to replace a bike innertube for my 12 y/o now - as you do!One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

there very high GI often over 90 so you risk insulin spikes and cravings
if you can get cassava crisps which are much lower GI, all the supermarkets have them, and there around 80 cals a bag
waitrose chilli ones are to die for
total 0% greek yoghurt with 10g of raisins is glorious and only 100 cals

Hi sarymclary and eric pisch - thank you for the replies and the advice.
Day #1 of the "new me" and I've dug out my trainers and the exercise DVDs. OH is working til 8 o'clock so I'm going to do at least half an hour later on, once I've got some house work and Open Uni work out of the way :j:jA journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Started 15/03/2011.

Ahhh if I could stop at one bag of crisps it wouldn't be a problem, but it's my comfort food, that we all have, just some more than others. Have been very good with just 1 pack/couple of weeks, but as soon as the schools went back.....
He's not too keen on snack crisps, but I am off to the supermarket later and when i get his multipack I will leave them in the car and he can use them from there, a pack a day. These special offer packs are really no good for me to have in the house, I know I'm too lazy to go to the car to get crisps :rotfl:
Eric, I had the same shock with my b4 and after pics. I don't think I look like the same person whatsoever. Pics were on one of the previous threads. So with my crisps locked in the car, I'm hoping never to go back to that
Due to go back to work on Friday, stupid day to go back, I know. But my knee is no better, so will be attempting to go back to the doctors on Thursday again. Doctor wants to test my B12 levels again, as I had a slight problem with it last year, and I've been very tired of late, I have to wait 12 days for an appointment for them to draw a little blood  I think that's terrible! 12 days? Bloody hell, could be dead by then :rotfl:
Melvis, unfortunately I can't use the BH as an excuse, I'm north of the wall, and there's no holiday here :rotfl:
And a big happy birthday to my non slimming buddy BB, hope you have a great day hon4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Crisps are my downfall too... I'm really going to have to stop buying them if I'm going to lose weight.
I can tell I'm coming down with a cold today. My throat feels funny and my ears are a little blocked. Just what I need for going back to work tomorrow after two weeks off!A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Started 15/03/2011.

sary We are not weighing anything here, just explaining to him he cannot have sweets crisps junk etc all the time he has to balance it out with fruit and crackers which he loves and he eats yogs etc there is no prob with his eating all the good healthy stuff as that is all we have in the house anyway, it is just his portion sizes are bigger than we would like and he now gets what he should have, he loves peas, every meal he asks for peas, no idea why the pea fad but he is happy to go along with it all and questions nothing, he knows we do not stock the bad only the good and he gets the benefit:D
My absolute fav desert because you can get sick of sugar free jelly is a dollop of fromage frais, a dollop of no added sugar angel delight, invariably choc flavour, a dollop of banana muller lite yog and some fruit, be it mixed fruit, raspberries, sliced banana etc a little bit of it all mixed together and it is lovely, cals worth not sure but can't be much, it is only a spoonful of all the flavours and a bit of fruit no sugar nothing added, perfect:D0 -
Never really had a problem with crisps, cheese was my weakness, I could eat a big slab in one sitting0
