Well was looking for a nice going back to work, lazy but tasty (and pretty much sod the diet) meal for tonight - had a huge shock when I saw the relatively high levels of sat fat in scones. To be expected when they're made with butter but still it probably starts to explain the regained weight I easily had four scones in one sitting with spread once a week. Very tempted to sign up to WW online for a short period just to try and keep me on the straight and narrow and totally get my head round what is for everyday and what's for a treat.

Never really had a problem with crisps, cheese was my weakness, I could eat a big slab in one sitting :)

Oh god yes, cheese too. In fact, food in general is my weakness! I haven't bought cheese for ages though, because there's only two of us in the house so it either gets eaten in one day (which is bad for the waistline) or gets left to go mouldy (bad for the money saving!).

I hear ya eric. Especially when I make my macaroni cheese. Which I always put waaaaaaaaaay to much cheese in. Even extra strong mature cheddar, can never be too much cheese in it :rotfl:Therefore I only make it once a month or so.

Went to Asda today and got 2 big bags of quavers and..... oh i can't remember what other snack, and as planned have left them in the car, can't believe my son actually chose them when i suggested them, probably land him with the shts as he's lactose intolerant, but he's of the age now, I tell him what's got more lactose than normal and he can make the conscious decision whether to have that or plain crisps. He's been quite sensible lately and only taking little bits of milk when his stomach is fine.

Determined to get back onto it tomorrow. Gotta take my DD to the doctors to get a few things sorted out. Going to try and see if we can get one of the new wonder drugs for psoriasis that are now available. It's such a shame to see a pretty young lass with her skin in such a state. Especially when she gets down because of it. So will need all the positive vibes ppl can send to hope that the practice will splash some cash and prescribe it for her.

RE: Sore throats and feeling rough. I'm the only one feeling good in this house atm. After my episode a couple of weeks ago, both the kids are complaining of headaches and sore throats tonight. So they have been told to stay well back from me!!!!:rotfl:

  • Thanks peeps. Had a lovely day, spending time with my mum and dad.
Think I may have turned a corner health wise too. Everything crossed.
Eric - to be down to 23 stone is fantastic.:T:T

Vix, how do you feel to be living separately again after so long, yet still ebing together?
Victory, sounds like you are handling this weight issue with your son with sensitivity. Not a word you boss is familiar with however...

Mazza - are you being refered with your knee?
I didn't realise you DD has psoriasis - that's what I have (and the arthritis that goes with it) mega seriously,80% coverage at my worst: make me really ill, can't control body temp well, and in constant pain, with raw burning skin, let alone the look of it. Having real trouble with my hands at the mo, even water makes then raw. Clothes hurt. A sexy disease it is not. And the more you have, the harder your heart has to work, as it is making new skin 3 times faster than everyone else, so you get really tired very easily.

I am on one of the wonder drugs now. Yeah, the one that is making me feel carp, lol. However do not be put off: there are many different drug options and many do have sucess on the one I am on. Demand a referal to a dermatologist. A GP just doesn'thave the expertise and there is a lot of help to be had out there. She deserves help, it is a very demoralising condition to have, I understand, especially for a young woman.

Also, there is a fab forum:http://psoriasis-help.org.uk/

Have a look at it, and suggest she joins. I'm using it a lot at the mo. It covers all the treatments available too.
Feel free to ask me anything.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Bbelle, I really feel for you: 80% must be agonising. My psoriasis is limited to knuckles, elbows, ankles etc and when its going through what i call a red phase (the bit before it all turns white) it can be very painful with the cracking skin bleeding etc. So for you to have that over most of your body, well I just dont know how you cope with it.

I've blown it a bit today: a new 24 hour subway has opened up very nearby and I do love subs. I get the most healthy version i can think of: turkey, no cheese, and loads of salad... but it's still not on the planner so i shouldnt be having it. Maybe next week i'll make an allowance for having one. Ah well hopefully will have a better day tomorrow :-)

Eric - 23 stone, brill result there mate, what's the next target?
